  1. WTF, Why can't you skip the credits? Apparently this is a thing on the PC version, you just have to alt-f4 the game and reload it to go faster between eps. Otherwise you have to sit through a 10-15 min roll of credits every time. Save that shit for the end.. You cant ESC, you cant scroll or hold enter to speed it up... none of that courtesy is given to you.
  2. Well I guess I put off buying a video card for too long. All the prices have skyrocketed by 50% or higher because of some bullshit ethereum mining thing. I'm def not paying these prices. I was planning on doing it next month when I financially had a chance to do so. I guess I'll have to hope my video card last a bit longer.

That's a bunch of 1070s in that pic. I'd wait until black Friday at this point to buy one. By then the current rush will be over and prices should go back to normal. That and half these ppl will probably flood eBay with cards around that same time. Other miners that don't care about efficiency as much will buy those and new cards should be normal prices again.

nVidia is suppose to be releasing a special card for these people in the future that focuses on electrical efficiency which is what these people are after. Hopefully that will alleviate the problem.

That would be good. I was reading this topic earlier:

The flood of new miners is jacking up the price of the GPUs but also dropping the price of the return of investment. If it continues dropping, the gpu prices will probably rebound before black friday anyway. Some of these people are saying they make like $7 a day per 1080ti, $780 per card investment not counting tax. It would take at least 4 months to start earning a profit per card and thats not taking into consideration the cost of electricty they'd be using for a 24/7 max load per card. All in all I bet it takes close to 6 months to start making a profit. But once the profits come in, they're constant. Probably $180 a month per card unless the rates go back up to about $9 a day, then it'd be like $220 or so. But how long do these cards really last under that work load? I bet they last maybe a year at best, and these ppl like to sell them on ebay and buy a new card so the initial investment gets subsidized that way. They're probably making profit 6 months out of the year. Lower quality GPUs, like a 1060 6gb would make less money per day due to lower processing and the more people that get in on it lowers the total profits significantly. I bet the 1060s will be the first cards to go back to regular price.

  3. The older I get, the more I dislike the general public. I was never Mr. Popular in school because I kept to myself and felt that the upper echelon of the social order was so trivial. I can befriend just about anyone of any type of values/background. But overall my circle of friends is pretty small, and always has been.

I say all that to say this... holy shit why are people so fucking stupid on the internet? I'm pretty new to this whole reddit/facebook groups thing. I remember running around anime forums as a 14-15 year old shooting off at the mouth like I was hot shit... but these are grown ass adults that don't have a fucking clue what they are talking about, nor do they want to learn.

I see all these morons on the GW2 facebook group asking dumbshit questions you can easily look up yourself on wiki or youtube... The GW2 community has the best community of YT guide makers of any game... quite literally there are the most pointless guides for even the biggest imbeciles.  Taking 5 steps in a straight line from a waypoint to get to a POI? You better believe there is a YT video on how to do it! Just type in the name of the POI and at least 5-6 20 sec-1min videos will pop up. You could have tabbed out of GW2, or pulled out your phone and looked that bullshit up and got it done w/o wasting your time posting a question in a facebook group and waiting for someone to respond. I mean what the actual fuck? Then they get butthurt when someone posts the link to the wiki, and people actually coddle this fool like we shouldn't tell him to try harder to help himself? I almost left the group because of that because it was the second time in two days I saw it. Kumbaya shit pisses me off, and as a society its lead to the everything is offensive/racist/bigoted/cruel. Sometimes people have to feel like people think they're stupid to better themselves. Its called learning the hard way, and I've done a lot of it myself.

Then you have assholes telling you about the class you main, and they have no fucking clue how the class works.... because they don't even play it. They main another class. Its obvious by what they're spewing out, by leaving out various aspects of the class while giving out vague descriptions... then a lot of times saying something that's completely false.

But this is just a side note really, what set me off on this rant today is another facebook group. I'm a EDC nut. I own multiple guns, pocket knives, and flashlights. I recently got into a group about a particular brand of knife I enjoy. Overall its a great group that gives me good ideas about future purchases I might make. I recently ordered a knife that is an upgraded version exclusive from a certain knife retailer. It has a high tier quality blade steel, making the knife double the cost of the standard version. Even then at $80, this steel is normally only found on pocket knives that are $220-400. Its one hell of a deal. So this new guy that joined the group asks in a comment reply why would anyone pay double the price for this knife when he got it for way less. I explained to him what the deal was, because that's what the group is for... sharing knowledge and opinions. He never responded so I figured he understood and moved on.... then later down the comments I see him ask the question again... -_-; Another member tells him about the steel, and I follow up explaining that its an exclusive version of the knife only sold by that particular retailer, and I even go into why that steel is special and its characteristics. Once again no acknowledgement. He later makes his own post, posting the basic version of this knife that he owns, and someone asks him what version it is, and he states he just found out that there are more than one version of his knife and asks AGAIN why is there a one doubled in price.... this all took place in the span of 17 hours. I mean did you not fucking read mine and other peoples explanation? You read it enough to know there was more than one version! Holy shit.... Why are you so fucking ignorant? Is your mental retention that bad? How did you even manage make it back to the facebook group two days in a row?

I'm not really raging, even though it sounds like it. It just bothers me that people act this helpless. The internet has made people even more lazy despite the fact that there is a wealth of knowledge to be had. I've learned a shit ton using it, whether it be about science, history, or my very own hobbies. I mean how do these people even pay their internet bill? Did they post on their ISP's forum to ask how to do it? Google is a powerful tool to find quick answers to everything. It requires way less clicks. Use groups and reddit for opinion discussion... not for basic questions that you need to find on your own. You just look like someone that could drown in the shower.

Stupid ppl and pc correctness / coddlers like that are what make me treat Facebook groups and Reddit completely different from traditional forums. In a forum I'll look at every topic, post, etc. But on Facebook and Reddit I won't even click the link if its some basic question that can be googled. And that guy you answered twice about the steel, he's either completely ignorant or a troll. I'll compare him to a climate change troll. On either end of the spectrum there's a person that already has their mind made up and thus they believe everyone else that doesn't agree with their belief is an idiot, or in the case of the knife he already believes it's not worth the price. Someone offers an explanation that is in opposition to their predetermined belief. That person will then proceed to publicly denounce the other's opinion or in the knife guy's case he ignores because he has no counter argument and then proceeds to ask the question again and again until they get someone to reinforce their idea. It's a horrible combination of ignorance and narcissism. I'm sure he read your info and realized he was wrong. But in true narcissistic fashion he won't admit he was wrong and instead makes another post that they learned something on their own with no help and now wants info on what they now believe, while at the same pretending their previous ignorance never existed.

Narcissism is the biggest issue with the internet nowadays. Everyone is obsessed with themselves. Endless selfies. Everyone wants to be complimented and can't take any criticism even when it's beneficial. It's also a power trip. Whether they are aware of it or not, they are asking / telling ppl to do something for them they can easily do themselves. It's a similar mentality that happens in bad relationships. The husband sitting on the couch asking the wife for a beer. Of course he could just stand up, walk over to the fridge and get one, but why when someone else will do it for you. The internet is that lazy asshole sitting on a couch while taking a selfie and telling everyone they are wrong about everything.

I guess that's what it was, but he is in the wrong place for that, and if he keeps it up he'll just get kicked from the group. The two knife groups I'm in have pretty solid admin staffs. They don't put up will bullshit. Someone got offended that people were posting guns with their knives, and they got booted pretty quick for raging about it. XD

  4. I beat season 1 about a year ago. I picked up 400 days, Season 2, and this game today on the steam summer sale. I just got done with 400 days and I'm glad I got it for $1.25 or whatever. Seemed like a waste of time at the end. The mini stories were cool, but you really had no control over the end... or whatever choices you made doesn't really feel like it connected to how it ended. I always find it interesting how I stacked up at the end vs. other players. I was in the minority on a lot of choices on season 1, but was in the majority on everything except one choice on 400 days. I'll probably start season 2 soon.

, yeah so about Battlefield... j/k
  7. I understood it as the humans were flawed and saw as intruders without the net gene code. The outbreak is what caused them to not have it anymore after a few generations?

LOL, you're still paying for those domain names? I forgot all about those.
  9. Well it kinda makes sense, they did butcher the original story and boot the guy that made it. It wasn't exactly on good terms either so I doubt he would let them profit off the story they fucked up. He's probably the only one that knows what the darkness was supposed to be. it was quite the oversight. I'd love for the original script/vision/story board to leak or come out in its entirety one day.
  10. Arekkz referencing GW2 World Bosses... wishful thinking... but cool to hear him say it.
  11. It doesn't sound stupid. I've actually had lengthy convos with Sledge about this, and we both pretty much agree. Although putting a PC together isn't that difficult, the parts may look "scary" to most, and the thought of it is a hassle to a lot that are just lazy like me. If you make a modular console where you plug boxes together like legos, even the the least technically inclined could do it without worrying about breaking stuff, software malfunctions, or part compatibility. I could see them selling a new GPU/CPU unit for $100-150 ever 3 years or so, just plug it in and play the newest games. Maybe you can even get a discount by trading your old part so it can be certified refurb, or so Sony/MS can reuse the plastic casing if they make it super standardized. By this time I see console gaming going full digital as well. Discs will definitely be gone. They might resort to a USB stick or even a cartridge like the Switch where the game installs off of it for those that lack internet access. But I think it would be less of a hassle to do it 100% digital. This way the online store can read your hardware and stop you from purchasing games that you don't have the necessary upgrades for as your system ages. Otherwise people that just don't pay attention, whether it be the actual gamer, or the clueless parent buying their kid a game will get frustrated, when they can't play the game they bought/got for Playstation Modular, even though the game says its for that system. As someone that works retail, (As Strider also knows) refunds are a hassle, and restocking costs labor. Its not as simple as bringing it back. One return doesn't cost very much, but as they rack up, it adds up. The nature of the return in a business where the customer is always right, a lot of the time stuff can't be restocked and sold, and its just a loss.

Hi, welcome to AC! We def started out as an anime discussion community 17-18 years ago? (How old are we now @Sledgstone?) But now we're really a bit of everything. We're a lot more gaming oriented now TBH, but I still love and watch anime, a long with the few of us that still roam around these parts.
  13. Its still seems pretty limited power wise. All these PS4 Pros and Xbox One X's still run these games at 30FPS. At the same time It's not really any companies fault. Kinda/sorta related, I read an article a few days ago about why game loading times are still atrocious, and its due to hardware limitations overall. Even for PC, we've reached a peak on harddrive read times while CPU and GPU tech advances. Even SSD aren't fast enough. HDD/SSD tech is still growing, but at a much slower rate than CPU and GPU. So technically you could drop a bomb ass CPU/GPU into these consoles and make the most beautiful games.... with 10 min loading screens. I do believe Bioware will deliver a game much better than destiny. I think its a stretch that it will last 10 years, especially with a new Playstation and Xbox coming out within the next 6 maybe? I'd say we're half way through this gen's lifespan. Maybe I'm wrong... but its pretty hard to stay relevant for that long. I'd like to see it happen. In my older age, I tend to stay loyal to games as long as their fun and people are playing them. I've played Overwatch for more than a year... longer than I've spent on any shooter since BF2. I prefer the longevity model, because annual releases = less quality. Look what it has done to Battlefield. I'd like to have something similar Destiny promised in this game.
  14. The kung fu shoes look so bad. I get he was trying to show off the weapons, but he used the whip so little compared to the others... well the Kung Fu shoes were pretty short lived too. Even in its current state I'd still buy this. I just hope a few QoL things get added in before launch, It's due in March next year.... So I doubt they're done with polish. Castlevania was a love hate with me. I remember how much I enjoyed Lament of Innocence for the PS2... and then God of War came out and blew it out of the water mechanically, while offering the same violence and puzzles on a higher level. It felt clunky as fuck after that and I never bought another Castlevania game again. God of War owned my heart for hack/slash/platformers. I'll be getting this for the switch. Just about any side scroller that comes out I'll get it on the switch. I have a lot more use for mobile mode on the switch than I thought I would. If the power goes out (And its hurricane season) I'll get a few hours of entertainment out of it. Or if I'm stuck at Firestone for car maintenance. I have Blaster Master Zero, and I'll be picking up Sonic Mania as well. As long as they keep them coming I'll keep building my library.
  15. I liked that War mode, it was tons of fun. Now you have to build stuff and then escort the tank. It sounds cool, but Its going to be like Operations in BF1 where no one is playing the objective, and the builders will just get rekt because "Muh KD". Its starts out like zombies almost and ends like Overwatch... I find it laughable YTers are bitching about no killstreaks in it. GTFO, you'd never be able to escort the tank with constant bombing runs on it. That would be like Reinhardt and Junkrat with infinite ults on defense. The WaW War mode was great because while it was objective based, farming kills still got you where you needed to go. So even people that weren't really playing it right were helping. Watching the tide of battle change with that solider meter up top was thrilling. Yeah, I remember that match, Screw you with that Type 99.
  16. http://kotaku.com/the-man-behind-bloodstained-talks-konami-and-kickstarte-1796262208 This is a kickstarter funded game from the lead producer of the Castlevania series. It looks neat, but needs a bit of polishing. The game is still a year out so there is time. I'd like to see a quick swap mapping on the D pad or a quick menu for weapons. The claymore is very situational, I don't see myself ever using it if I have to pause to swap weapons every time. The whip looked like the best weapon from what they had access too, but they barely used it.
  17. They just said this will be a 10 year game.... you know... like Destiny was suppose to be. Oh boy... I highly doubt it. You'd have to deliver one hell of a full experience to keep selling $30 expacs that continuously deliver amazing content. For a console game I just don't see how its possible. The Hype behind Destiny's claim was believable at the time, because next gen was still pretty new, and we didn't know the extent of it's limitations. That being said, I can see this game lasting 3-4 years. The javelin suits have a lot of potential to sell cosmetics
  18. The game overall looks pretty fun. But the loot system is going to ruin it with the P2W guns.
  19. Its kinda hard to describe what it is. It plays like M64, but its nothing like it. Its very exploratory from the videos I've watched, you'll have to check them out on YT, they're all 30 min long on the 2-3 levels they showed off. I'm pretty excited about it though. It's the closest to a sandbox Mario game we've had yet... and I'm always a sucker for exploring.
  20. I'm pretty sure its make your own story where scenes only resets on you "dying" or a pivotal part of the story dies like the kid. The differences will be in successful solutions. I'll probably get this game when it goes on the cheap, it looks cool, but not $60 cool for my tastes.
  21. Activision: Screwing fans over since 1982.
