  1. If you think you're hot shit in Overwatch and tea bag me, I'll swap to Junkrat and make you're life a living hell. Thats what some asshole playing Reaper learned tonight. I generally don't play my two best characters as much as I want to because I've been expanding my skill set. Dude got the best of me multiple times when I was playing McCree the previous round, then he did that, and went on to die 15 times in a match because of me.... including getting a rip tire to the face 4 times, and every time he managed to kill me, he died from my martyrdom.... and they lost the match, and he left after that. XD

  2. Its going to be a prequel story. Im glad they are doing a PvE event again, Dr. Junkanstine was pretty fun for Halloween. They should really do more of these because it forces people to learn new characters against bots, but have fun at the same time since you're playing with friends. https://reader.madefire.com/work/OVERWATCH-UPRISING/read Here is the comic if you want to read it.
  3. I'll replace this with the english trailer when it comes out, but for now it's the french trailer while its not taken down yet. I got 3000 coins saved for that Genji skin. I needed it the moment I read the comic.
  4. I bought this game, expecting some mindless hack and slash fun. I honestly didn't expect to love it as much as I do. Despite all my technical gripes in my first impressions, just about everything else this game offers makes it easy to overlook. The story is over the top bizarre, but amazing. And is presented in a unique way that requires at least 3 play troughs to get the whole picture. I didn't understand the rave reviews about how awesome the story was until I just finished my last play through of it. After your 3rd run through the story, you get chapter unlock to experiment with other endings. I accidentally ran into a random ending when I decided to not go to the next main quest immediately. The game cut to a black screen and told you something along the lines "While on you're carefree walk, everyone died... the end" It was so sudden, and a little irritating at first because it didn't save the weapons and upgrades I had just purchased... but funny none the less. From what I can see, there are really 4-5 different serious endings, and the vast majority are either like the one I just mentioned or joke endings. I will say this story had a lot of balls to do what they did in play through 3. The first two are pretty similar with varying differences as they are from 2B and 9S's perspectives of the same events. The 3rd go around takes place after the end of that, and swaps you around to different characters seamlessly. I'd say my biggest gripe is how the Pods are shit. All their special attacks look cool, but they don't do any noticeable damage, and even after upgrading 1 and looking at its next upgrade, it doesn't seem to make a difference. To require such a grind for them seemed silly. Their best ability was the shields that block projectiles and melee attacks as those had the biggest use. Plus the weapons, while cool never were better than your starting blades once fully upgraded. Which is sad, the gauntlet weapons looked great, but the DPS wasn't justifiable. My favorite part of this game was the bosses... they were bat shit crazy. Hack and Slash was always one of my favorite genres and I'd like to see it make a big comeback. Square Enix and Platinum proved these types of games can have a soul. I didn't think I'd like the multi-play through style, but it really worked for this game. It's truly the underrated game of this year. EDIT: After all said and done, I put about 35 hours into this game.
  5. Aint no patches fixing the story. Not unless they go back and add a shit ton of voice lines, cutscenes, and missions. The villain was shit, which is sad, because he could have been great. It was more about execution. You focused more on another type of enemy the majority of the story who holds no hostility unless provoked. The game centered around planet viability too much, and yet didn't have many worlds. The side quests were redundant, an dialog wasn't placed very well to make it interesting. Driving around in the nomad got old, because it was the same old "drive here and scan this/fight this group of bandits/kett/rogues" Its like they tried to use the KOTOR 1 planet formula without interesting missions and stories to do while on them. I count maybe 3 story altering decisions you could make, that were all the same via letting a NPC die/kill them or letting them live. There was nothing like previous ME games that had huge consequences... or to avoid spoilers for those games, I'll bring up Manaan from KOTOR 1. You could get banned from that planet altogether and never be able to visit it again, and you could kill various crew members via decisions you made in that game. There is nothing like that in this game. No one was in danger of dying. Its all too safe, no risk, bland dialogue. The game wasn't an abomination, or super terrible. It was just not as good as the previous 3 games. Slap a different label on it and maybe I'd have a different perspective. ME1-3 aren't perfect by any means either, but damn it was fun and had some memorable moments. 10 years from now, I couldn't tell you much about Andromeda... but I can recount even the smallest side quests in the original trilogy. The main character wasn't bad, but he had nothing to work with.

This is a pretty damn good acoustic cover.
  7. Indeed. Now that I knocked ME:A out I started my 3rd playthrough and its not a different POV of the original playthrough, but an endgame story that give a few good gut punches from all that you accomplished. Its like DLC came with the game. I'm highly impressed, its the most I've gotten out of a $60 single player experience in a while.
  8. It actually surprised me it was a person with a cgi face though, because he's movements were not natural. I assume he had to keep his head level with no sudden movements for the cgi to work.
  9. You're not missing out on the theatrical experience, the human cgi was just as bad on the big screen. Honestly they could have used the actor for Tarkin and caked on enough makeup and fake hair to make him look close. He already looked pretty close, and it was his voice already. At this point Tarkin isn't much of a spoiler, he's been plastered all over social media with articles about how controversial it is to revive dead actors.
  10. Beat it, last mission was pretty epic despite the first arc being a complete and unapologetic rip-off of Mass Effect 1. Overall the story was a mess. Wait until you can pick this up on Steam for $5.
  11. After doing all the loyalty missions, I can say that Cora is the worst character in ME history. How obnoxious. I wanted to shoot her out of an airlock because she wouldn't shut up about her Asari training, and referring to a damn manual. I haven't used her since I got Drack and Jaal, and I'll never again. I never even talked to her really until I decided to do her mission. I already didn't like her when she was crying about the whole Pathfinder thing. Mechanic-wise Vetra's was the best. Story-wise goes to Jaal. Peebee and Drack had the best real time event promt option. I honestly think the crafting cap is kinda shit. I was able to craft a level 10 chest, but everything else caps at VI and then you have to gain 10 levels to craft the next tier. I doubt I'll be making it to level 100 before I beat this game. I'm at 52 right now. Also, why the fuck do I have to wait for this game to "connect" at the main menu. If you don't wait 5-10 seconds for it to connect, you just get set to offline and you can't access your strike teams... so then you have to back out to the main menu and let it connect. What kind of shit programming is this? Why can't I just connect in game? If I suspend the app in rest mode, it reconnects online after saying "connection has been lost to EA servers". The facial animation fixes are nice. There is still micro-freeze problems on Kadara. And why does the ship have so many loading issues? If I need to leave the bridge the door sometimes takes forever to open. When it does, sometimes the textures aren't fully loaded in? WTH? Why cant it load the whole ship in? Its smaller than a planet. This game has been really sloppy. If this was PS3/360 it could get a pass, but this is the next gen of consoles. If I was the big guy at Bioware, I'd be having a meeting with this team and smacking some heads around.
  12. I can't ever leave the infiltrator profile. I love the cloak dodge and the seeing through walls. I got a Black Widow VI sniper rifle right now with a penetration mod that allows more than 50% damage though objects. I can pretty much snipe everyone in cover... at almost 800 dmg per shot, I def don't lose much and can still one shot head shot people. To make it even cheaper I have a N7 Valkyrie V with plasma seeker bolts. I can blind fire without aiming, or shoot to the side of any obstruction to hit the mark.... comes in handy for those damned remnant that put up a shield. I maxed that Remnant Peebee gave me, meh, what a waste of points... oh well. I went back the turret and got its flame thrower ability. It makes short work of those blue smoke field kett. I finished up Drack's loyalty mission. Even though this is my least favorite ME game, he's by far my favorite character in any of them, dethroning Wrex. The bonus "mission" after you already unlock his max upgrade is great. When it comes down to it, the bigget problem with this game is planet viability. They took the equivalent of ME1's pointless mineral gathering, and ME2's planet scanning, and made it into some sick tangle of sidequests that dominate the game.... and are required. I got all the planets to 100% and it wasn't fun. It was redundant. This game is great when you're doing main quests or the big part of loyalty missions. I've done Vetra's, Drack's, and I'm near the end of Peebee's. I figured I'd do them all before I go to the final boss. The last part of Ryder's Family Secrets is pretty good when you unlock the final memory and encrypted log. The paragon/renegade system needs to return if they ever make another game. Dialog is so stale, I often skip asking minor NPCs questions. It makes me yearn for those hilarious moments like when you kick a Hanar off the street for peacefully "preaching". Speaking of which, this game also lacks the humor that broke those serious overtones. From the poetry singing Korgan, to the terrible dance gags... that subtle humor is missing.
  13. You can save from the menu pretty fast, I guess it's a pc thing like a 1 button press save you're looking for?
  14. Even gore makes it through pg-13 now though. It has to be a real crazy type of of gore to make R. Take all the fucks, and sex out of Deadpool and it would have been PG-13.
  15. Probably the best Racing game ever made. R4 distinguished itself from every other game in the series before and after it. A remaster would be the only racing game I'd ever buy that wasn't Mario Kart. To this day this song pops in my head now and then. It had a great soundtrack.
  16. Today, the difference between PG-13 and R is saying the word FUCK more than one time tbh. The only other divider is full frontal nudity.
  17. https://www.vg247.com/2017/04/04/platinums-action-rpg-nier-automata-exceeds-one-million-in-shipments-and-digital-sales/ I'm happy to here this, as its well deserved. I was afraid this game would be lost in all the big guns that came out shortly after it like HZD and MEA. I'd definitely like a sequel to this game, rather than another massive time jump from the previous title.
  18. http://kotaku.com/mass-effect-andromeda-patch-claims-to-improve-lip-sync-1793995024?utm_campaign=Socialflow_Kotaku_Facebook&utm_source=Kotaku_Facebook&utm_medium=Socialflow Looks like animation fixes are on the way.. a little too late for me. Once I beat this game, I doubt I'll run another playthrough.
  19. Meh, I'm not excited at all. The first 2 were entertaining enough, the 3rd was a bit too silly. This one just seems so bland.
  20. Rodan is really the only big name next to Godzilla. I was hoping for Gigan, Destoroyah, or of course Ghidorah. Human characters plot
  21. As you said this is a different team that made this game, which makes me believe that the original is working on that new Star Wars IP. It would make sense to have your more seasoned team to do something that big. Lackluster is becoming all too common from the bigger studios. Just look at DICE now. Its all about making money every Sept-Nov for publishers, they rush shit out and patch it constantly along the way. I think that breeds the mentality as well. "If we fuck it up, we'll patch it later" At least Destiny didn't have these jarring technical problems. Far away creatures shutter around, constant microfreezing when running into named areas or going too fast with the Nomad. Frame rate dips and texture popping is one thing, but locking up is just pathetic.
  22. Still no actual footage. I guess they are saving that for E3. I'm also assuming they are going with the original vision for the game where it doesn't take itself so seriously.
  23. Eh, as much as I like to trash Activision. COD is a different beast all together. Bungie is the dev, while Activision has a more hands on role than just publisher for COD. Sledgehammer/IW/Treyarch are just yes men. While I wouldn't be surprised, I can see a different engine. But more a long the lines of Frostbite 2.0-3.0 than a whole new different thing entirely.
