  1. I think the biggest problem this game has is pacing. I feel like this game had a different direction at one point and they changed it up late in the game to where there is a lot of unused areas. After I finished this epic Angoran arc, its back to droning away at mindless side quests. This game lacks memorable NPCs like Aria, The Shadow Broker, The Reporter, The Illusive Man, Joker, etc. None of these people I do quests for make me care about them in one way or the other. I just spent a few hours working for an NPC that looks like your every day generic KOTOR NPC that would just say "hey" if you tried to interact with them on a random city street. Your choices seem to hold no weight, the renegade/paragon system being gone is a part of that, along with the influence trait that came a long with both sides. The other part is that there just isn't content written for it. I mean, go to this one planet and hear of this rival faction that's gaining traction against the ruling party... you briefly suggest maybe you could side with the underdogs, but in the end there is no choice that drastically changes the outcome of the game's story. In fact you never meet this rival party vying for power. Everything is too safe, there is nothing you can seem to do that will alter the course of a story and make it vastly different from another player's experience. One of the great things about ME1-3 was the conversations with friends and listening to how different their story went from mine. Even the most minor actions in a random side quest in the first game could change a lot in the last game. I don't feel like this game has that. More disappointing was that the main quest was so lack luster on the last planet I was on, I forgot that I even completed it at one point. For an open world game there is zero reason to explore outside your mission markers. Once you get the right cryo pods that mark all good caches on your map, you notice there is a lot of unused space that's not worth exploring... you might find some shitty weapon mod or something, but overall there is little reason to not be linear. Crafting gives you the best gear in the game because of augmentations. Even the highest level of gear purchased from a vendor doesn't have the extra stats you can develop yourself on the same tier item. You won't find some amazing weapon or armor piece out of a crate. I may have found one good sniper rifle I liked until I replaced it shortly after with a crafted one. The Kett and the Archon are kinda just there. There was no development for them, and I feel no sense of urgency to stop them... and apparently neither does my crew with their lame ass loyalty quests they want to do. This game lacks grandiose feel of your character and other characters, and what is on the line overall. The combat, crafting, skill tree, and overall mechanics are superior to any other ME game, but the story it self has some issues right now. This game is an emotional roller coaster of "this is amazing" to "why am I even doing this?". Its not a bad game, but to me its no where near as good as the first 3 games.
  2. It will be interesting to see. If it is a reskin they better delay it or they'll have a hard time going up against COD:WWII and Red Dead Redemption 2. And that's all we know about from leaks. After E3 my wallet is going to be crying of God of War is given a holiday release date on top of all that.
  3. Well the last PS4 update totally screwed up uploading videos. I keep getting errors and there doesn't seem to be a working solution right now. So here is someone elses gameplay of the same mission I wanted to upload. This is one of my favorites, I just wanted to show off what yo don't get to experience in the demo.
  4. I heard this was really bad. I saw an article the other day about how you should watch Into the Badlands S1 over it.
  5. Yeah, I hope they get an infusion of anet influence this go around. I actually enjoyed Iron Banner when i had decent gear to compete with, and even then playing it for the weekend would at least net you a nasty weapon at the end. I was overjoyed when i got Felwinter's Lie. The game had interesting ideas with poor execution. I'll give them as pass because of how bad the production got jacked up. Hopefully they've learned from that. I can only hope they make this into a COD4 type moment where it takes from its predecessor and makes something game changing. New IPs aren't easy to make and so hopefully they've learned from their growing pains. IB should be fun for everyone and the way to do that is make gear accessible to everyone. The weekly nightfall was actually really good for gear near the end of when i stopped playing. I got a shit ton of exotic and legendaries from it. But most of all I hope they learn not to make a end all be all weapon and wait almost 2 years to nerf it... all the while pulling that BS where you sell it once and never again... until you nerf it.
  6. I just see a bunch of Destiny 1 stuff, same class vanguards and what not. I guess the rumors of being in the distant future were wrong. I'll give them another shot, but I want more than the same 3 classes and the same weapons. They can fix their formula simply by making open world progression viable. Even if it's those bounty style missions.
  7. Out of curiosity, since I wasn't getting anywhere relationship wise with many characters. I looked up the possible combos, and they are extremely limited. I know the first 2 games didn't have many options, but I remember 3 having a lot of different potential relationships... I guess they didn't want to make everyone swing both ways, and the one person I felt I could endure a scene with without it looking weird isn't into guys. But I don't think you'll ever get an answer on it so you could keep hoping for the options to prompt and waste your time. Sqaud-wise I've been sticking with Jaal and Drack. Drack is probably my favorite character since Wrex. He's like a grumpy old grandpa that's a badass in a fight. Peebee is fun to talk to, but the rest of the characters are meh to me. Liam and Cora are kinda just there, and Vetra... eh I think Garrus' AI ruined Turians for me altogether, along with my view of them in the first game. I always sided with the Krogan on the genophage issue.
  8. Ugh, I just did that part last night, it doesn't help that the markers are so bad in this game. Half the time they don't place right, and placing a waypoint on it shows you how bad it's off when you get out of map. Once I hit both overrides, I had a hard time finding the damn console in the corner. No one turned the alarm back on though. I love sniping, hell it's the best way to beat architects. The Eos one was way easier than the one on Voeld. I guess I could have waited for the temp to rise there instead of dealing with cold hazard level 2... but then again its easier to survive cold hazard 2 than radiation lvl 2.
  9. I just fought a gigantic boss as a side quest, and finished a planet after Eos. Now I'm really pumped. Eos was really boring and uninspired feeling. This game takes a bit to pick up, or maybe that's just for people like you and me that has to finish every little thing possible before moving on. I've learned the cover system is just a temporary solution as you play further. I use a lot of dash and stay pretty mobile. I've seen AI that messed up my biotic targeting with some type of smoke/cloke field, so the fights get more interesting as the game progresses. I was using nades, but I started investing in the turret because it pulls aggro like crazy.
  10. NieR: Automata's soundtrack is probably my favorite for a game in a very long time. It's been a while since a game's tune gets stuck in a loop in my head through out the day. I haven't loved the music for a game this much since God of War and Dark Cloud.

  11. I was telling Sledge, after playing as 2B in NieR, all these female character models are pretty ugly to me. I don't think I want to romance any of them. I tried to customize my twin not to look so weird. I don't know why its hard to get a decent female face that doesn't look like bad plastic surgery. The hair styles don't help because they all look like wigs, which goes for the males too. Now that I've made it past the first planet, the story has really picked up and got me excited... although I really miss renegade... I REEEAAALY miss it. I'd like to tell some of these assholes how it really is. The few times you get a smart ass response, you're generally smacked back down by the NPC. Ryder lacks the grit Shepard had... I get he/she is a different character, but man they really put the "green" aspect to the forefront. I do like SAM a lot though, his voice acting is great.
  12. Compared to the Mako, the Nomad is amazing. I could do without the 2WD/AWD swapping, but at least the damn thing doesn't flip over every 3 seconds.
  13. It sounds like she just casually read her script off a piece of paper and got paid. That was probably the worst voice acting I've heard so far. I don't really have an issue with the rest of it. The facial animation is definitely because of the eyes and eyebrows. Some of the characters look fine most of the time, but the unnecessary side to side eye movement is baffling. As for the jerky motions of some of the characters, I think that's more do due with some type of placement bug. Prescripted scenes do fine, but on the fly interaction is when the animations can go crazy. I even saw a guy teleport across the room once because I interacted with him from the side. Something was definitely up with who ever designed this. They often try to hide it with over the shoulder cam POVs... and when you rotate the cam to the side they look so lifeless. I'm not sure how I feel about this open worldness. Its probably because I just started and its so different. In previous games you had memorable landmarks like the Citadel and Omega to start out with. I'm also not too fond of some of the design choices. The jump would be cool if you didn't have to rely on it for everything, even small obstacles that impede your forward movement. I was killed during my first big fight because some ground pipes got me stuck. Shit like that is my biggest pet peeve. The dual purpose buttons on consoles don't help. You can use O to climb over things, but it doesn't always proc and O any other time is a dash, so you just dash face first against the wall. Triangle is to interact but also melee, so if you don't line up with something right, you can punch the air like an idiot. The platforming is pretty neat, and the jumps and dashes do help you get to cover faster when you're under duress. The story itself is interesting. The one thing I've always loved about mass effect is how interesting the side quests are because there is so much voice work put into them unlike other games that resort to text boxes for nonessential tasks. I do miss the renegade/paragon system though. I guess I'm so use to being a prick, Ryder's optimistic, carefree personality makes me cringe. I already miss Joker too. The combat is good. I went with Scrapper, and I'm currently using the solider profile. I love the Biotic charge, and the melee in this game is brutal. Its a great way to clean up some low levels. I'm rocking that Carnifex II Pistol. Damn thing hits like a truck and can 2 shot almost anything because of its lethal accuracy to get head shots from long range. The slow fire and small mag are worth it right now. Team AI is better than in previous games so far. But I had a chuckle when the female Turian on my squad went down immediately during a big fight... just like Garrus always did to me.
  14. I finished the second play through and the ending was similar overall with some minor differences. The overall play through was different enough to be enjoyable. 9S is too OP though and it makes for stale gameplay. His 1 weapon set up is lame and makes his combat so boring it encourages to you to just hack enemies and kill them instantly. When 9S hacks there is a progress wheel that had to fill to go into hack mode, this obviously is affected by the strength of the enemy. Once you get in you complete a twin stick shooter puzzle that also is effected in difficulty by enemy strength. If you fail you take damage, but honestly they aren't too hard. So basically you can hack a boss 4 times and kill them. The pods are too difficult to upgrade as well. I looked it up and it seemed to be a grind not worth doing. This happens to weapons after level 3, but I haven't been able to get enough mats for my pods to even get 1 upgrade. I do plan on getting some more endings, but I'm going to start Mass Effect and come back so I don't get burned out.
  15. ROTFLMAO. This was so great.... best play ever.
  16. Orisa is something this game needed desperately. She may not be a true anchor tank like Rein but she serves an important purpose on control and escort maps. Her ult is amazing, its like every player having a Mercy boost at the same time, and thus it helps teams power through choke points and the final push on maps that generally are dominated by the defending team like Hanamura. I always forget to record these things when I'm having too much fun, I had a 25 player kill streak with D.Va the other night and didn't record that either -_-;. I played with a few friends tonight and of course Orisa is currently a popular pick. I went match after match of watching the other team get her alt and some idiot not using her right on my team. Unless myself or one of my friends had a chance to pick her, I never saw her ult on my team. Orisa has the best single target weapon of any tank. She has the best range and highest DPS for a tank. When she shoots, she is as slow as D.Va, but without the luxury of a quick escape and endless ammo. But as a tank she can pressure Phara, Widow, and Bastion. I really like this character. Shes not good for every situation, but she is needed for just as many if not more. I was playing as her on Kings Row, we got the payload to the most difficult turn near the end and struggled for a while. I got my alt, dropped it, threw my shield in front of it and we dominated and pushed it in with ease. I was really impressed. The barrel is a powerful ult, but its very vulnerable because it has to have LOS on players to work. Its not like Symmetra's shield generator that can be stashed in a corner. Even with Orisa's shield in front of it, you have to make sure flankers cant get to it... or in my case in another match, Junkrat, in which I took the other team's barrel out. A different match on Hanamura was my favorite though. My friend was Orisa and I was Lucio.... Hanamura is a nightmare to capture point B. The other team is always going to go with Bastion and/or Symmetra. The hallway to the spawn is shorter than most maps letting the defending team run back to it for a quick HP top off. You damn near need a team kill to cap. Anyways, we coordinated our alts, and I spammed the group up button and ult notification, surprisingly everyone grouped up on me and I hit the sound barrier and speed boost. We charged in and my friend dropped the barrel and shield and we crushed them. Team Kill, we win. This is probably why Lucio's AoE's are getting nerfed soon. Him and Orisa is a pretty powerful combo. The new changes to Sombra are subtle but amazing. More access to hack and trans-locator is what she needed. I played her a few rounds and wreaked havoc on the other teams healers. And the fact that Junkrat doesn't hurt himself with his own bombs now is amazing. I can now lure people into small rooms and end them every time. You can be even more reckless now, which matches the character. Ole Junks is a nightmare for Orisa, shes big and can't get away, plus she requires accuracy so spamming jump makes it hard for her to hit him. Since D.Va doesn't have aim, and Roadhog can just hook, they don't have much issue with him like Rein and Orisa. Oh and thankfully they nerfed Bastion again. that 30% less damage in turret mode was unacceptable.
  17. There are endings for ever letter in the alphabet apparently, but a lot of them won't be worth it for me when I looked up how to unlock them. I'll watch them on YouTube sometime. I'd buy DLC for this game, which is rare for me to say for a non MP game. I enjoyed the combat, and the various styles of gameplay.
  18. They are the same studio that made Mob Psycho 100, I'll def be watching it.
  19. I don't think they had faith that a very anime style live action show would be a hit and only ordered 6 episodes to see how it did. I mean the story is over the top, along with the costumes.
  20. Oddly enough, no there were no frame rate drops during any of the boss fights. I think this has to do with them being contained in an isolated area. The game takes weird artistic directions at times. There are sequences in black and white, and there are a lot of colorless boss fights, as well as colorful ones... I think most the frame issues are just from the open world core area when you turn corners and run into grass and water. Plus I've noticed some texture pop ins at times. I "beat" this game just a few hours ago. I put that in quotations because apparently there are multiple play throughs with different POVs. After I beat it, I'm now playing from 9S' POV. It will be interesting because the we did get separated a few times, and I already got to see what he was doing at the start of the game which was pretty much the demo. There are many unanswered questions so I assume there will be at least one more play through after this... I'm hoping, which will be completely different from a totally different character's POV. The first play through took me a little more than 16 hours. I doubt this go will take more than 3-4 as I wont get that load of side quests. I kept all my gear and level from the first go around. 9S' style of fighting is meh... he only has light attack and hacking. You can hack enemies and make them explode. Each hack depends on the size of the enemy. I prefer 2B way more. The best thing about 9S is that he can open chests and doors with hacking that weren't accessible when you were playing as 2B. So now I'm getting more weapons and goods to upgrade my weapons even more. The centerpiece of this game is its boss fights and main quest sequences. Man they are amazing show pieces. I got some footage saved I'll edit later and upload. Some of the supporting cast in this game is great. The voice work is outstanding, even though the lip syncing is really off at times. You can tell the dub doesn't match up well with the lip expressions at times. The words are just completely different and this isn't cel shade, so it cant be helped. Overall I'm impressed with this game, I just hope it gives me a reason to play as 2B again with fully upgraded and new gear. I'd like to slot some of these newer weapons into the heavy attacks that 9S doesn't have.
  21. Did anyone else watch the season premier after TWD? Hopefully this season is more than 6 episodes. I thought it was a solid start. Whoever does the choreography for the fight scenes is outstanding. Fight scenes are not cheap to produce from what I've gathered over various behind the scenes interviews I've watched the past few years. Not good ones at least. The sword play and martial arts training alone costs money, and this show goes a step further with dangerous stunts. These are A-lister movie quality stunts that may take several takes to get correct.
  22. Yes, you will still drop gear. It's mostly money and consumable buffs I never use. Most the buffs in this game last 15-30 seconds so I don't bother with them. You won't drop weapons, that would irritate me. Since you're an Android, when you die your consciousness gets loaded into a new body, which is why it's a mechanic I guess... Like fast travel is just your conscience being loaded into a new body that pops out of a vending machine. When you pick your lost items back up the game will give you the option to restore any chip you lost back to how it was. Now that I'm decked out with auto heal and heal regen on kills, I don't see myself dying anymore tbh though. As it stands now I get 30% of my HP back every kill and I can regen HP after taking no damage for 3 seconds. I can basically run around using my ranged and regain all my HP. When I was dying, I didn't have any good chips. Now my HP is almost doubled, health packs are auto consumed if I drop below 30% HP on top of all my regen chips. Also I'd like to say that the sound track to this game is stunningly beautiful. In an age where we've transitioned to ambient background music, this game brings back that old style, heavy thematic background melodies that are amazing. They also transition and evolve as you move from zone to zone.
