  1. http://gizmodo.com/nintendo-switch-will-reportedly-be-cheap-but-whats-the-1788965815 $250, I'd def pick one up for that price.
  2. Holy crap, this thing is huge. 41lbs?! I was telling Strider about this video the other night. Under 60 where ever made, and none of them had matching parts. The dude was too stubborn to make changes for mass production. Pretty interesting history in this video.
  3. That is Bato, their choice also doesn't fit him. I'll probably go see it regardless. Funny how there was so much talk a few years back about Cowboy Bebop and Neon Genesis Evangelion, and we end up with GoTS.
  4. Well its probably better that way, given the history of video game cinema. I thought I read a while back there was an ME movie in the works, but It wouldn't really work out since Shepard doesn't have a true set in stone gender or appearance. It does look pretty neat though. I never heard of it. I hope its more like Fifth Element than Lucy... I heard Lucy was pretty bad.
  5. What's up with the weird ass body suit? Thats more racy than the anime outfit, they could have added some color instead of making her look nude the whole time.
  6. This gun is sooo much fun to use. On paper its shit, slow reload times between each shot, slow bullet travel, and no scope. All the streamers are right, Its super satisfying to land those kills. Even outside the sweet spot you still do 90-99 damage and get credit for the kill if someone else finishes them off. If I'm close range by getting caught off guard, i can pop a shot and swap to my Frommer really fast to finish the job in one shot. I guess the extra skill it takes to land shots makes it a satisfying experience. I got a few long distance headshots tonight, hopefully it saved when I hit the button. I don't know if I'll go back to long range sniping after playing with this gun. Now that I'm rank 10 in all classes, I played around with my Model 10 some more and got my 6th service star. I can now enjoy all my favorite set ups.
  7. Collateral with the Martini-Henry.
  8. Infinite Warfare sales are down 50% from Blops 3. Blops 3 didn't outsell 1 or 2. Finally the tide has turned. Activision is blaming no old gen, but BF1 outsold BF4 and Hardline combined.

Overwatch probably took a nice chunk, but I think its more of every game took a piece of the pie. Overwatch is a completely different beast than the causal nature of COD. In COD, one person can win the whole match for their team, in Overwatch that's impossible. Overwatch probably took a lot of TF2 players as its more that type of game. There is a lot of strategy involved, unlike COD where its all about having the best twitch reflexes and exploiting spawns.

The thing that has always struck me about COD is player's lack of map awareness. My success in that series was predicated on that. I often used map routes that no one bothered traveling. After all, no action took place there, so it was a "boring" part of the map. Using those paths, I'd easily get the flank and demolish the enemy team, and they'd never discover what I was doing. My favorite example of this was a map on COD4 called Pipeline. It took place in an abandoned oil refinery. The map was your standard 3 building map with a rail way, and some cement tubes and metal sheet fencing. There was also a network of tunnels under the map that had 3 access points. One access point was in the middle of one of the warehouses. Even so, no one ever used the tunnels. In hundreds of matches, I only ever saw someone else down there maybe 3 times. For me, It was a quick way to get to the opposite side of the map and come up behind the enemy, and then quickly escape. I used this tactic on the map forever and I still talk about it with the friends I played that game with to this day. It was so effective that I replicated it on several other maps that had a similar design. (Highrise on MW2 comes to mind). Everyone wants to run to the center of the map and shoot at each other with no tactics in mind. In OW, you have to know the map, where the health packs are, and where to go to flank, and chances are you'll have to fight you way through a path to get to where you want to go. :P

Titanfall most likely got the biggest share of the COD pie since it plays almost exactly like COD just with more vertical movement. Halo probably ate up what was left. BF gets it's fair share of COD players but most don't stick around long enough to learn the game.

R6S is not a game COD fans would play and I state this because COD fans would never understand the basic premise of the game. It took me awhile to learn R6S and how to play it effectively. Much like Overwatch map knowledge is key to victory. Knowing entry points, where to flank, what areas of the map can be used to hold the hostage/bio-container/bombs, how to enter those rooms effectively, where camera's are located, what walls can be destroyed, and even the smallest of details. Operator knowledge is also key as you need to know what operators do what, how effectively they work with other operators, how to counter each of the operators abilities (like Mute's jammer, Valkyrie's camera's, Kapkan's trip bombs, Thermite's thermite charges, etc), what weapons the operators use and which one is more effective for the map you're on, etc. R6S is pretty much Counter-Strike with a twist and most COD players I know can't even grasp how to play CS effectively.

God I miss COD4, it was the only time I've ever been extremely good at an FPS (I'm good at BF but I'm nowhere as good at it as I was at COD4). Maps like Pipeline made it amazing. I used to camp that tunnel with my Ghost layout when I played Search and Destroy (as defense) since one of the containers was located right next to it. You don't know how many times I've wiped a whole team by doing it. Hell I used to run that path during TDM all the time since, as you said, it was rarely ever used. Most of my epic flanks are due to that tunnel. Shit my ability to go ham with the shotgun on Bog was due to my extensive knowledge of the map and how to effectively move through it (and what corners to camp, what I was a corner camper and I'm proud of it. I had the pro perk and everything (mine even had smores)). People in COD now-a-days don't want to learn the maps because all the fighting takes place in one area. Why flank when you can get right into the action and lose the battle for you're team (thank you COD for your shit players coming to BF1, it's no wonder why a lot of operations matches end in the first sector).

I loved all the maps because they all had a different style of play. Countdown was so open and vast, there was no camping outside of the two hangars. The smoke provided cover at times, but it you could go nuts with the M16, which was so OP if you had good aim. XD 1-2 burst kill from across the map with stopping power, snipers never had a chance. Downpour had so many great routes too.... and then Wetwork was the meatgrinder map. The Operation Locker/Metro of COD. If you aren't using 3 frags, you're doing it wrong. XD I miss my MP5 silenced.

  9. LOL @ :43 when that guy runs in thinking there would be some action for himself but everyone was dead.
  10. I bottle necked my way into playing scout, but I only have 1 more level to rank it to 10. The end out round screen has been fixed, but I feel like hit detection has suffered a bit lately. I had to swap back to my Frommer Stop from the Mars Auto because it was taking 5 shots at close range to kill anyone. WTF? It use to be 2 shots, and the pistol fires so slow, its not worth using right now. I think they really screwed up on the rank 10 support and Medic guns. The SL Sweeper and MG15 probably should have been rank 10 for those classes, the BAR is Supports best gun, but the MG15 has the largest mag. The Frommer is a little beast of a pistol. It takes about 4-5 shots to kill someone, but you can shoot it faster than a Mars can get 2 shots off. Plus its really stable and has a very large amount of accuracy and control. I should have recorded a clip of me hipfire killing someone from the second story of a building with it. Then there is this poor sap. Strider discovered the joys of sniping last night, we went to town on some poor souls in Operation Kaiserschlacht.
  11. Warhorse is back for the BAR, I def recommend grinding for it. Its legendary worthy at the distinguished level. That Russian skin is beautiful too. I wouldn't mind having that. I disagree with Cap on repeats. We shouldn't have to wait months for a chance at a skin we missed, especially now that they offer way more per week. The chance of getting the one you want further decreases, but until the system is revamped its worth the opportunity to get something as good as Warhorse.
  12. I got Blue Devil for the SL Sweeper today.. so yeah I got every legendary skin this week without buying a battlepack. I just wish they weren't all damn jungle camo. Blue Devil looks the same as The Riot for the Model 10, The Mexican for the Mondragon, and the one for the Madsen... The Doughboy for the BAR was the only one that was unique.... and the one I have for the M1912. (Damn that pistol is shit XD)

I'm starting to wonder if some of the blue skins are actually a more uncommon drop than the legendaries. I say that because I see equal amounts of legendary skins as I do blue ones on my death screens.

  13. I'm about half way through Code Geass. I see where Aldnoah.Zero borrowed a lot of inspiration from. XD

Yeah Funi doesn't divide them up by season. It was just a Playlist of 50+ eps. The only thing I didn't like was they never explained CC and VV's origins. The whole be the villian to secretly be the hero was awesome. The most gut wrenching part was Euphemia's death.

      Sledgstone

Code geass is one of the best animes made in a long time. I don't know if CC or VV were explained in the OVAs or not because I haven't seen them yet. There's 4 ova but I never looked up the plots.

Funi is hit and miss about OVAs. sometimes they have them and sometimes they don't. I don't think they have any of the Fairy Tail OVAs. Plus when they do have them they list them all at the end. I don't know if some of these OVAs come out during the series or they all come out after but many times it has characters that died or had some plot twist that made them the villain, so its weird to watch something that reverted back to a time before the event.

  14. I'm at a 1.4 KD in this game. I haven't maintained an K/D like that since MW2. While my 42-5's with a behemoth helps, I can only claim about 5-6 matches in 80 hours like that. I've had a lot of 40 kill matches with just my gun and gadgets as a Medic and Assault, which I've played way more than any other class. I would probably be at a 1.5 if it wasn't for damn bugs. I just love how this game is more infantry oriented, and its gun vs. gun, with no bullshit lock ons, night vision, infrared, or mass spotting. I can take being wrecked by the behemoths... the blimp is the only one that really gets me. You just have to be a fool to sit on the left side of the map when the dreadnought is up. The gunplay in this game is just amazing. I enjoy playing every class, and I like how each class has a defined and important role. People can bitch about scout all the want, the flares are amazing, they go hand and hand with the support mortar. The problem isn't the classes, its the balance of people playing them. In BF4 everyone could run around with Shotguns and PDWs. Allowing everyone to have access to a certain weapon type would be problematic. I'd be the first one to tell you I'd use the Model 10A and spotting flares exclusively. So would a lot of other people. Support guns could use some love, the BAR Storm is the only gun that has any value for that class, the M1909 is decent, but even with its bigger mag size, it doesn't have the accuracy or TTK the BAR does and its reload its twice as long. All the Scout rifles are great. All the Assault weapons are great for defined rolls. The Medic has a nice variety depending on if you want to play aggressive, or cautious. Support? Its BAR and Mortar. I just hope they nerf the Mortar recharge and not the damage or ammo count. The rest of the kit is trash outside of the Ammo crate. Limpet charge is fun in situations, but Assault is better for taking down doors and tanks. They should have left trip wire on Support. I thought it suited scout better after the beta, but flares and decoys are the way to go in that kit, plus the shield is nice too. As far as the skins go, I like the R6S system Strider laid out. They could keep the RNG boxes, and charge a ton for the actual skins. Hell, I'd grind for just the skins I wanted most likely, but people love their RnG and the boxes would still be a popular purchase. By selling the battlepacks they could still make money, but I'd significantly reduce the scrap for trashing unwanted skins in the process. This way they could still make money by limiting people from getting scrap too fast from being a credit card warrior, but at the same time keeping the in game earned scrap more efficient than buying boxes and scrapping all the skins. I just wish there were better Legendary skins. My favorite main weapon skin is my Distinguished Warhorse for the BAR. I'd like to see more skins like that for the other guns, the camo pattern is kinda meh, and once mud gets all over your gun, it looks the same as the standard blued skin. A lot of the distinguished skins look better than the legendary ones. Hell I have a basic one on my Mle 1903.
  15. Strider would know more about the renown system Rainbow Six Siege, but its a pretty good video. They talk about daily challenges like I have been pulling for to.
  16. The moving boat snipe is my favorite snipe I've had probably ever. The M1903 is def my favorite scout rifle.
  17. They're too strong, planes can't destroy them because you can't even get close, plus they respawn fast. Only the blimp and tanks can destroy them vehicle wise, and tanks have no reason too since they don't do a lot of damage and its suicide to attack at tank with one. They shouldn't be able to hit fast attack planes from 3 sectors away. They disable engines in 3 shots before your plane even gets to 60% health. They should have their range reduced by 50% and that's being generous.
  18. Stationary AA guns need to be nerfed into the ground. I was trying to fly a fighter a few times and some ass all the way across the map was destroying my plane, and there wasn't anything I could do about it. You just get instantly disabled. The Dreadnought and artillery truck AA can stay the same for all I care. The bomber sucks. i tried to use it for better bombs, but its super slow, no throttle up or down, and the handling is horrible, you're just a bigger target that dies just as fast. On a unrelated note, I noticed a trend in the revive weapon lock up bug. Basically when you get revived, if you don't get flipped backwards, then you're gun is going to be locked up. Both are annoying and get you killed.
  19. Well to be fair, it only takes one bomb from the airship to take down the AA truck, people just ignore it and get as many kills as they can before taking out all the threats. The Artillery truck is pretty mobile though. Strider and I had to chase one down the other night as he popped smoke and tried to get behind a hill to repair. It's crazy how no one tries to take out those AA guns first, you can see exactly where they are shooting from.
