  1. I stopped buying fighting games after the Mortal Kombat reboot. While it was fun, after I beat the story and unlocked everything in the krypt I got bored. I don't find fighting AI fun anymore, and online fighting lag issues are worse than it is for FPS as timing is even more important. Now that I'm older, there is little time to get together with friends and fight it out with controllers and 1 tv.
  2. I'm glad I never got into this series. Their treatment of it is more frustrating than how Nintendo does Zelda titles. I remember in KH1 or 2, there was a blatant rip off of Dark Cloud 2's spheda.
  3. I really liked the mix of narration, acting, and commentary they delivered in the first ep. I'm off Monday so I'm excited to see the second ep. I'm glad they went with the 2 hour format as well. I guess they'll cover 2 barbarian leader/tribes each week.
  4. The steam pipe buster was clutch for me when driving. The traffic light hack rarely worked. I knew it wouldnt be a sequel. Hopefully it will offer enough new stuff to get me to buy it. The problem with the first was it got so easy when you just stole everyone's money, but then the last mission was really difficult compared to the rest of the game. The line of sight puzzles were probably my favorite part of that game.
  5. I wonder if COD is gonna put out any pre E3 hype like a lot of companies have done the last 2-3 days. They're gonna get overshadowed by BF1 and they might even get boo'ed off the stage. XD

    1. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

They'll try but they'll fail since everyone will be more interested in BF1 and EA Play (which takes place before E3).

I'll be watching the live footage if I remember to watch it for the BF1 64 player battle and watching all the videos Jack, Level, Matimi0, and XFactor put out for it (and possible Neebs as well).

  6. I nearly forgot about this game, and apparently its been delayed a few times, including today... it will comeout 2/28/17.
  7. Looks interesting... funny how they kept the purplish theme to give it a semi-Saints Row feel. It def looks inspired by the 3rd game, but you're probably right that it doesn't tie into anything.
  8. I liked No Reservations and Bizarre Foods, just because I liked to see all the weird shit Zimmerman would eat. I always found it funny how he couldn't stomach durian fruit and Bourdain loved it. I've never had access to the science channel either, another one I'd like. Eventually all these channels give in to the dumbed down reality bs because rating at the cost of their audience. I remember when syfy first came out as Sci-Fi it was my all time favorite channel. Buck Rogers, Battlestar Galactica, Incredible Hulk, Quantum Leap, Godzilla, Six Million Dollar Man, Logan's Run, Kolchack The Night Stalker... all the great oldies. Now look at it....
  9. I never really got into Avatar or Korea, but from what I've seen, even those had more fluid animation. Maybe it will improve as the series goes on.
  10. I never had the H2 channel and would always get irritated when they advertise shows for it. When Top Shot was in its last season, the host Colby Donaldson had a 30min show on H2 the day after the episode aired of himself trying the challanges the contestants went through. I actually got to catch all of those on demand even though I didn't have the channel. I thought it was awesome how he could pull his own weight as a marksman. People use to make fun of History, calling it the Hitler channel because they use to play tons of WWII docs. I miss those days. I never saw battle BC. The last good doc I saw was America The Story of Us. I saw part of the mankind one. I want more of these. I like Vikings as well... more of a hearty mix of series and documentaries would be nice. And unless they bring back Top Shot or Full Metal Jousting, then they can reduce the reality TV crap by a lot. Forged in Fire is good because blacksmithing has ties in history, but swamp people had nothing to do with history, nor did logging or mining. Well the last two sorta do, but the shows did nothing to relate their historical relevance.
  11. Wow, History actually doing some history! This looks great, I'm def going to catch it. The fall of Rome is close to my favorite subject next to World War II.
  12. My biggest gripe and fear right now is how inconsistent the animation seems to be. While the sizzle reel shows great fluid motion, some normal clips on youtube shows some choppy typical western animation. Animation isn't cheap, I get that... hopefully it doesn't become a turn off. here is what I'm talking about. Maybe I'm spoiled, it just seems to me it goes from fluid to choppy to fluid to choppy movement. most notably after the initial fight scene, and at the end when there running to the vehicle. I'll give it a shot either way.
  13. http://www.ign.com/videos/2016/06/02/voltron-legendary-defender-official-sizzle-reel I can't find this on youtube, so the IGN video will have to do.

This guy is crazy. I spent hours watching his videos the other night. He doesn't use much safety in doing his experiments.

  16. Exactly, I have had a few coworkers that actually used them because they needed them. I know people that needed them but have been rejected, so I have no idea how these blinged out people get assistance. It's insane.
  17. People I know get offended when I make comments about food stamps. But working in the grocery business I see first hand how much it's abused. It's become a "live as comfortable as the middle class" system instead of a don't starve system as it was intended to be. I see people with $300 shoes and a iPhone swipe their EBT card and drive off in a SUV. They buy Ribeye steaks, junk food, and then buy beer and a pack of cigarettes with their own money. Basically my tax money pays them to eat better than me so they can have luxury items. That's BS. Yeah some people really need government assistance, but there are a lot of people that game the system, a lot more than people want to believe. I wish ebt worked more like WIC where you could only buy nutritional items. The whole system is costing us way more than it should and needs serious reforms, but right now all that happens is political rhetoric BS about how you want people to starve and die.
  18. And that's what I'm hoping for. They have to give those speeds probably via the exclusivity deal. Otherwise someone could wisen up and sue the crap out of them for antitrust. If you deny the public competition you have to offer similar service. I guess the way AT&T gets away with it here is that Comcast and Mediacom don't want to spend money running cables out to low population and possibly low income areas because the returns wont equal out the costs of construction. I know the reps will tell people that move into a newly build neighborhood to get a petition going, and if so many people agree to sign up for service then they'll consider running cables out to them. Its not that they don't cater to big business here, they cater to them if they'll line their pockets. The property tax here is the lowest in the nation. I think if you double it we'd still be the lowest. People pay $400-600 for the entire year. The state overall has plenty of businesses like Austal, Northrop Grumman, Hyundai, and Honda. Its a right to work state so we haul in a ton of corporations. Its just our city itself that has greedy corrupt bastards that have let their stupidity ruin this city and help it fall well behind neighboring Pensacola and Biloxi. We have a Mayor now that is trying to modernize our city, but the city council makes sure to get in the way as much as possible. We have a lot of old people here too so none of them care about education or paying new taxes to help the city. We get to vote on just about every major state and city tax increase proposal and they always get shot down. In fact our neighboring county just had a vote to where it was made clear that if the tax proposal got voted down the school system would go bankrupt and have to shut down schools... yup it got voted down. The education system is in the dump and it gets treated like the federal government does social security. Its always the first thing to get cut or borrowed from but never gets new funding. What's sad is that the taxes that get voted on are nickle and penny taxes that wouldn't even hurt anyone. I think the state raised the property tax one year with no public vote on it and it was a huge uproar even though we were still the lowest in the nation. As many conservative views I hold, I don't mind paying some taxes that go to things I actually use or are useful like the future's education.
  19. Thats why I'm so ready for Fiber Optic services to beat the tar out of cable packages. I'm sure there will be BS caps and what not on them too once they make the current system as obsolete as dial up, but overall it will be better. They just approved the first hub in our state's capital so its probably years away... plus our city's government is as corrupt as it gets, it doesn't matter what party they belong too its all backdoor money in their pocket deals. You wouldn't believe it, but Disney World was originally scouting this city, but when the city officials found out they marked up the land costs super high... thats why when they decided on Orlando they bought up the land under fake names and shell companies. Jazz Land/Six Flags was suppose to be built here originally as well, and once again city officials priced themselves out of it and they went to New Orleans. I think Nasa looked here too before Cape Canaveral... but I have a hard time believing that since we get as much rain as Seattle. They'd never be able to launch anything out of here.
  20. Exactly, they are using gas station tactics where they don't really compete, but they do have similar pricing. By not competing they can both place caps and charge for overages.... I don't get their buesiness model because it seems like they could make more by actually competing. When they build new subdivisions around here it can take more than 2 years to get internet service. I had a friend that moved into a neighborhood, and waited that long to get internet. AT&T has a complete monopoly on rural areas, and they charge as much as Media and Comcast does for 25mpbs packages for 3mpbs. Its either than or nothing. A few friends have it and its terrible... and if you try to use a booster they'll be able to tell and will throttle it within an hour or two.
  21. Yeah it's relatively new here within the last year. We have comcast, mediacom, and AT&T. They monopolize by not competing with each other. So depending on where you live you can only get comcast or mediacom. AT&T serves anyone but it's because they are slow dsl.
  22. Wow, do you have a data cap? Ours is 450gb and $10 for every 50gb we go over. I can game all month without issue, but stream from Netflix we start getting notifications that were close half way through the billing cycle.
  23. I finisned Aldnoah.Zero on Netflix. It was def one of the better mecha anime I've seen in a while. Serious plot, good political drama, awesome mecha design, and great action every episode. The emotionless child prodigy was a turnoff are first, but the supporting cast made it work.

I finished season 1 tonight. I thought the ending was perfect. Then season 2 started and negated it all. wtf. >_< I'll finish season 2 this upcoming week. I hate emotionless child prodigies. If not for the lack of a female character preaching about pacifisim, this show could have been called "Gundam: Aldnoah.Zero" :P

      Spoiler

The Vers could have owned the earth so easily. But instead of fighting with a big army or at least with a squad, all their OP knights decided to be 1 many armies. I thought after the first couple died, they'd have wised up and grab some support troops, but nope.. they just keep falling like dominoes.

The Vers empire doesn't make sense to me. If the power to initiate the power source could be transferred with a kiss and was tied to their genetic structure, the knights could have overthrown the emperor, force them to activate everything they need and keep him and his family in jail cells or restricted restraints to prevent them from killing themselves and thus deactivating the tech. There was no need for an actual cast system in their society as far as I can tell. Same with this little wheel chair girl in season 2. The Vers Empire's selective breeding of this power is probably why all these knights died against one kid prodigy / vulcan that had nothing more than an education and logic on his side. Since they were born into their privilege they didn't care about actual battle tactics or common sense like bringing support troops to a fight.

Same with the princess. She is the typical weak character that is only important because she simply exists, acts as a plot device in only 1 or 2 key moments and is only important because of her parents, much like Eureka in Eureka 7 and Elizabeth Liones from Seven Deadly Sins.

I did like the battles in this. One of the things that really separate this from a gundam series is the lack of repeat fighting. At least for the first season. If this was gundam, everyone would fight, get more pissed at each other, then escape and go their separate ways, get some new suit upgrade, rinse and repeat. But with Aldnoah.Zero, they kill people and the plot progresses. Yay. :D The plot came together good in the end of season 1 and season 2 was just about to do some space battles right before I shut it off. Looks promising so far.

Yeah, season 2 gets a lot better as it goes on. So do the battles. The whole feudal system makes the vers interesting.

I finished this up yesterday. It definitely got better in season 2.

      Spoiler

I liked the other characters, like the PTSD guy, but no character got a hero moment in the entire series because Inaho was involved in every single enemy death. Just when I think one of the other characters was going to shine, Inaho intervened by shooting the enemy from space even tho he wasn't involved with the fight at all. Ruined that fight for me. lol. I'd have rather seen some good guys die as long as I could have seen a single fight that didn't involve Inaho.

Inaho's eyeball was so powerful he could watch a battle in space while standing on the earth's surface. He basically had a satellite with an AI system in his head. His eyeball was the most advanced technology they had compared to Vers' mars tech. They could have put that AI and vision system into all their mechs for a huge advantage.

A main character with a special left eye and a feudal system setting made the second season feel a bit too much like Code Geass. Even Slaine with his dodging ability in his mech was pretty much the same ability of that other guy in Code Geass.

      I didn't like Inaho. XD

  24. What kind of router do you have to suffer that much performance loss? I router is about 4-5 years old and I get maybe a 5-10mbps loss at best with 4 phones, 3 PCs, PS4, and a tablet running at once. My PC is furthest away from the router and that is what I am judging the loss off of. We only get 25mbps here, and I never dip below 15mbps on my PC and peak, but I do get 20-22mbps quite often. 24 up is crazy. They cap us at 3mbps here. With what I do on the internet, I never really notice unless the router goes screwy and needs to be reset because its only sending out .04mbps. Its a rare occurrence, but it only happens at inconvenient times. Unless it dips to 3mpbs I never really notice a difference since I use internet mostly for gaming. When I lived in an apartment, I had the cheapest comcast package that only gave me 8mbps.
  25. Is that the VA for Sonic from the 90s cartoon? This commercial is horrible and looks like a 90s video game ad you would have seen during Nickelodeon morning cartoons. The dash move can make or break this game. On one hand the combo system can make it sorta like Dust: an Elysian Tail, or it could make the game frustratingly harder than its suppose to be. I don't like gimmicky movement systems that rely on insane amounts of muscle memory and coordination. If it makes me fall to my death a bunch, I'll pass on this game. I'm def not getting it when it come out until I see a lot of gameplay footage.
