  1. I was wondering about the beginning of the trailer where they put the drunk guy into the sewer, because all the normal matches start out jumping out of a drop ship. Its about the best way to make a campaign, because there is no way to make a linear experience without a bunch of invisible walls that would just make the game seem dated. I got 4 titans and 24 pilot kills today which is insane consider the avarage for is around 5-9 for a good round and 12 is an excellent round for most since I've been playing. I've also read the game will come with 14 maps. I obtained a burn card to drop a Stryder class titan last night. Atlas is the only build you can use in the beta, as I assume its the medium between Stryder and Ogre. The Stryder didn't see to move much faster than the Atlas at normal speed, but its sprint was noticeable faster, and it has 3 dash meters compared to atlas' 2... I assume Ogre will only have 1. Each Titan has an special ability that activates overtime (there are burn cards that will allow you to have the ability as soon as you enter your titan). The Atlas has "Damage Core" which gives you increased damage output for a short period of time. The Stryder has unlimited dash ability which is very useful in maps populated with buildings. Dash meters come back over a moderate recharge rate, being able to spam it to get away from heavy fire is very valuable. I think I'm most impressed with the Titan computer. It keeps you up to date on what the hell is going on. Its hard to be like "WTF just happened". The computer will tell you when someone is rodeoing you, by how much you're outnumbered if more enemy titans show up while you're engaging a foe, when your shields are depleted advising you to retreat, and when you need to eject.

  3. YES!!!! Abraham! BOOO Judith is alive... she was pissing me off that that damn crying.
  4. One of my favorite things about this game is that your teammates cant steal your titan nor can enemies. You can activate defensive mode when you respawn and find your way back to your titan.
  5. Ok... after playing the beta I will say this game is fun as shit... The grunts are easy targets and keep the action fresh when pilots want to camp. When you kill a real person its a 100+ extra XP bonus... every kill reduces the time of your titanfall. I've maxed out at 3 titan drops in one round.. but that is only when you get your titan destroyed too fast, and wreck face with the actual pilot. There is a new learning curve. The tutorial at the start before you can play any rounds is very helpful... it starts out with the stupid basics that any casual FPS player should know, but then it gives you a good taste of the parkour system which is pretty fluid once you learn it. They also let you sample a watered down version of a titan. The default controls are the stupid COD default controls plus the extras... they thankfully have the set up to switch Stick to B for melee and stick crouch, and there is also the weird ass killzone set up... props for appealing to all shooter's preferences.... yes I don't use a keyboard and mouse. I use the xbox wired controller... this game is fully gamepad compatible. As a beta there are 3 default titan classes and 3 pilot classes. the pilot classes are customizable after rank 5 and the titan classes are customizable after rank 10. Only 2 maps are playable in this beta. The rounds are fast pace COD style, but feature an epilogue segment. If your team loses, you can escape to the extraction point which is visible to friend and foe teams. As victor or loser once you are killed in this time period you are not allowed to respawn. The losing team can escape to an extraction ship, or they can be wiped out... or the extraction ship can be destroyed before it escapes... Those that might escape are granted an extra 200 xp for successful evacuation. The extraction ship has a lot of health and it takes more than 3-4 titans to take it down. I will probably buy this for PC... the pandemonium that ensues in this game is too fun.. the original Infinity Ward has once again redefined the FPS genre... its just a shame that its a MS exclusive. The wall running and ledge grabbing is innovative and borrowed heavily from the failed Brink game... You cant run and gun like previous COD games or even the grunts will kill you. You have to adapt and use the multiple floors to stay alive. The Radar works the same, but with 2-4 levels per building, its hard to tell where they are when they pop off rounds.
  6. Brick Mansions is a remake of the 2004 french film Banlieue 13 (District B13). Staring Paul Walker and David Bell who is reprising his role from the original film. I love the original so I will probably go see this. I'm wondering how toned down the parkour aspect of it will be as Paul Walker was probably not on the level of David Bell or Cyril Raffaelli who he is replacing from the original. The story looks to be exactly the same, but they'll probably alter it a bit. The second one, District 13: Ultimatum, was in theaters a few years ago and had a super cheesy story, but the action was way more over the top. They are both on Netflix right now and I'd recommend it if you want to have a ton of fun watching insane stunts pulled off by the actual actors instead of stunt doubles. 8. Meh. It was ok. The acting was good, I'll give it that. Half of the major action sequences were just show pieces that didn't have any impact on the overall story. The story itself could have been better. It seemed to drag between turning points. It was way too political. In a world where we are hammered every day about drones and big business, if you go to the movies to escape all of that, this isn't the film for you. lol
  9. Thats a good approach. I borrowed the first couple volumes from a friend at the end of season 3, I was borrowing 3 at a time until he just gave me all of them and I plowed through from 6-18 in one sitting. I couldn't get enough. I'm ahead of the TV series, and while I do like the graphic novel better. I love the TV show almost as much. I respect the delivery within the bounds they are confined in. The best decision they made was having Kirkman (the creator) heavily involved with the TV series. Honestly some of the events in the book wouldn't even be suitable for HBO or a movie... The best part about watching the TV show first, is that you read the graphic novel in the voices you know and love from the TV series.
  10. Ugh. I'm reading Operation Metro is still lopsided in favor of the RU side in Second Assault... I wish they would have picked Tehran Highway or Grand Bazaar instead.

I don't recall seeing Operation Metro 24/7 servers when the rentals came out. I doubt it was a fan favorite. lol

That map never made sense to me. Half the time in conquest it would start out under ground and then eventually everyone would start spawning on the top of the map half way thru the ticket count, while other people would be capping a flag from underneath still.

Conquest was the worst, but rush was even more terrible for attackers. The 2nd two MCOMS were almost impossible to set off because of how easy it was to squad camp.

  11. You should really consider picking up the graphic novel, as you have captured what the TV show is trying to replicate from the books. I've read it in volumes, but there are compendiums 1 and 2 now that cover the first 16 volumes. I'm tempted to subscribe to the issues... but I'd just get pissed off on how short they were compared to the volumes I was consuming by comparison. This episode was ripped straight from the graphic novel verbatim minus 1-2 minor details.

    Evolve

The creators of L4D are trying to change the way we play multilayer with their upcoming game called Evolve. Evolve attempts to combine the world of co-op with the world of competitive multiplayer by pitting four players against one. Four on one doesn't sound awful fair at first until you realize that the one player gets to control a giant boss-like character, while the other four have to try to take them down with four traditional sized characters. Go here: http://evolvegame.co...kes/sweeps.html to enter the sweepstakes and take along 4 friends to PAX East to be the first to try it out! Click here to view the article

  15. You'd have to water down all the Mobile Suits, or else it would be impossible to lose no matter what character you picked... it would be the easiest game in history. XD XD LOL

  17. I remember the hours I'd put in to a post for Struggle in Cold Darkness. The PMs between You, myself, and Vyper about where we wanted to take the story, how to go about encounters, and the liberties we could take with each others characters within our own update were just as time consuming. I'd type put a few pages of story in MS word, and then edit it 100s of times based on those PMs. I'd say one update was almost an all day affair.... hell, I think the PMs were almost as long as some of our updates. GRX added a pretty good antagonist too it, but the poor guy was left out of our loop really. That was a hell of a time. I would never have the patience to write a book, but when we were all interacting, we made a pretty damn good novel, or at least a decent movie trilogy script.
  18. Hes too small. I thought it was a good ep. I liked the little bit they delved into Michonne's past... they never have done that in the comic so far. I think it might be in an side story mini comic that was given out during a free comic book day. I kinda wish they'd just get it all out there though on the TV show. Rick accepted that Carl isn't a helpless child anymore. He can take care of himself to a point and doesn't need to be babied. This is good, now hopefully we don't have to listen to them bicker about it all the time... the "Hey asshole!! Hey shithead!!" part was hysterical . Next weeks episode seems to be full of suspense. There was a bit of tension there with Carl and the walkers, but it's hard to believe they'd do anything to him right now. Rick, Michonne, Carl, Maggie, and Obviously Daryl are all safe... most likely Glenn as well... everyone else is chop liver and can be expended at any time. 3 or more will have to die by the end of this season. Oh and the Hershel head at the beginning was gut wrenching... poor Michonne. They really couldn't have picked a better actress for her... but I'm always amazed how different she looks without those fake dreds when I see it her instagram. lol
  19. Last time I tried to play split screen, I was like WTF?! How did I ever enjoy this?! I do think Social media has numbed society, and put a strain on traditional social interactions. I grew up in a Coast Guard family, and I moved from state to state having to remake friends every time. I've kept in touch with my very best childhood friend through long distance phone calls until AOL came to be, and then we had an unlimited way to communicate through AIM for years. I also had over protective parents, they would never let me go inside another persons house... I did without them knowing several times. When I lived in VA, my bike was my freedom and I rode it long distances that would make my mom freak out if she knew. Once I moved to SC, I didn't have the bike trails and woods I once had, and it was mostly suburban pavement. Going from school to school I made friends here and there, but not the lifetime bond, best friends forever type gig. The high school I ended up at was an elementary/middle/high school combined into one, most everyone had been friends for 10+ years. I knew no one, and I never really was able to get close to them. They were mostly rich kids that could do whatever they want, a group I could not fit in. Chatting with my friend in VA, and eventually Anime Forums became my social life. GF, GT, AF, SS, and my final landing place at AC were my outlets. I spent hours on AIM chatting with Saiel, Xellous, Stormy, Vyper, Son, and Carmie. Heck, me and Son (TENNAY! ) would play Jedi Outcast on dialup and see who got the lucky kill with 999 ping and ultra lag. I spent all day posting on the forum, arguing about stupid shit for hours and hours, writing novels about my opinion vs. whoever I was debating against. I remember spending hours making banners for myself, others, and the Member of the Month/Week awards we use to have so long ago. Seeing someone sport your work in their sig with pride had a special feel to it. Even though my sigs were no where on the level of Cammy's and some others, I enjoyed trying to mimic their amazing talent with Photoshop. I would dedicate hours to a PM request, putting more effort into someone else's banner than I did my own. It wasn't until I got my own car and a job when I started making some local friends. I started out as a bagger for a grocery chain at 18. I was fresh out of high school with all the free time in the world. At work I met people that graduated from other schools. They didn't have those same lifetime bonds with their classmates as it was at the one I graduated from. We hung out after work, went bowling, played video games, went to the movies, went out to eat, went to concerts, casinos. Eventually we grouped into a circle of friends, with friends of friends coming into the loop. My time on forums, and online in general declined drastically. Being a young part time worker with little responsibility on the job, I took notice of co-workers I was attracted to, started dating for the first time... I was settled in... My dad retired a few years prior and there was no danger of me moving again. I noticed my online friends start to grow up as well. Xell got married and went to college, Saiel started college, Carmie disappeared... little by little I lost contact with a lot of them. I still have them friended on facebook, but no one really has time to spend hours chatting about yesteryear. Here I am now. I'm now apart of the management team within the company I started with. A lot of the friends in my circle are married and have kids. We don't spend too much time together anymore, but we get together when possible. Those of us with lesser responsibility still meet up a few times a week as previously mentioned. As far as a family for me? I'm not interested. I don't want kids, I hate kids. Working in retail has made me bitter to them. In the world of PC we live in today, kids are spoiled brats. I watch as they hit their parents, scream, and throw fits with no repercussions. I got my ass beat with a belt if I acted like that at that age... now that's considered child abuse. I've spent a lot of wasted time on women as well. I stopped putting an effort to it. I use to have the desire to get married and spend my life with a soul mate, but now I'd be content spending all my earnings on myself, and having all the alone time in the world. I'm a bit selfish I guess.
