  1. After playing through most of this I have mixed feeling about the game. My first thought is that it is definitely not worth paying full price and for the season pass, and it is not better than SR3. For an entire game based off a SR3 DLC, they did a damn amazing job. The story is good, the dialog is hilarious, the tributes/parodies to other games/movies are awesome, and a cameo appearance by a certain someone in one of the two certain movie this game is heavily based off is pure gold. However, all the side missions are cheap, they just force you to eventually play all the mini games... Its been a long time since Ive played SR3, but i remember the missions being more varied, and the mini games and other activities being completely optional. They merged the hourly income/district control into the mini games making it a little watered down, even though the concept fits the narrative of the world you're in. In theory, before you even start any significant missions, you could complete 70%-90% of the game by doing all the activities available, and just instantly complete missions by speaking to those that offer them. I did a majority of activities before doing the 1st major mission available when you can explore the sandbox, and experienced this very thing multiple times. Vehicles are completely useless once you get your powers, and you get them very fast. You're forced to use them on rare occasions, and their only purpose of their existence is as weapons for some of your powers, or for mayhem mini games. I doubt my opinion will change much once I've beaten the game, while I've had fun playing it, its not worth what they asked for it.
  2. Steam got a bit big for their britches on this one. If no one was willing to pay $600 for a PS3, its damn unlikely someone is going ot pay $6000 for a Steam Machine when you can build 3-4 ultra PCs for the same price. The low end market will have to see a new gen of i7s in the $400-500 range before they see some success here.
  3. Well Neon Genesis Evangelion is still floating out there, and Akira is being made. NGE won't come close to the source material if they tried to make it. I don't know what you're talking about. Super Mario Bros is a cinematic masterpiece. XD
  4. Since you've agreed every time I've felt like I've wasted my time watching an anime, I'll just pass on this one.
  5. Pledged $30 to Kung Fury's Kickstarter for the Blu-Ray. XD

I'm tempted to do the same, but I'll probably wait until it comes out since they already made their goal. :P

  6. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEcCkaRUTsc See the trailer and a few clips of the live action adaption of the anime Kite I've never seen Kite, two of them are on netflix now I assume because of this project... I wont watch them however, because the customer reviews claim they are heavily edited. American live action adaptions of anime or any remake of japanese films have been a bust because they throw in to many western story cliches and ruin the original content... then you have Dragonball Evolution... which I'll never watch. It looks interesting. Click here to view the article

I'll do that! Those look hilarious! XD

  9. Level 5 wont make a Dark Cloud 3 because they dont think there is a lot of interest in it. There are many beloved games that are abandoned because now the gaming industry just focuses on home run hits... a game can't just sell well, it has to be a Triple A blockbuster money maker. It really hurts the variety we have to choose from. The industry might have plateaued, but I hold hope with some of the titles coming out this year. Meanwhile the indy sector is booming... the mainstream is starting to take notice.
  10. What a terrible game to end on. MGS3 was amazing, even with the camera issues I loved it, but apparently it was just too much for most and they fixed that aspect in a rerelease. We were all duped on MGS2. The opening mission was outstanding, and then you're thrown into this new character you don't give two shits about, he sucked so bad they had to completely jack his body up to make him a bad ass in later titles. The game wasn't that great. MGS4 is an interactive movie. Most of the cut scenes are 20+ minutes and a few can go up to close to an hour... (Thankfully you can pause them). The boss fights are among the most unique in the series as they all require a bit of critical thinking on how to take them down rather than the classic shoot, hide, and eat a ration. You really need to pick them up on the cheap. I dunno how much MGS5 is going to tie into 3, but hopefully they'll release a huge digital encyclopedia similar to how they did with MGS4, detailing all the events over the entire timeline from the 1st NES game to present. It will be interesting to see how the open world gameplay will differ from the more linear path the series has always followed. If they use a similar method to Red Dead Redemption, I'll be extremely pleased. FFXV might need to bomb to get them to wake up, and realize what they have been doing for the past few years wont fly anymore. I've been rooting for bombs on a lot of these bloated sequels that ride on the nostalgia of 3-4 games ago. People are getting their FFXV, their Madden 3430493, their COD: Ghosts, their GTAV, and I just want my damn Dark Cloud 3...
  11. Shes way too skinny. The short part isn't an issue. They make Tom Cruise taller than all female actresses in his films when hes the shortest person on set. Cavill looks like Stallone juice up on roids in the last Rambo next to her. Antje Traue would have been a decent choice if she hadn't already played Faora in Man of Steel.
  12. Hmmm... Can I have a Call of Duty 4-2: Modern Warfare? Actually, don't mess with the gameplay, just give me an HD remix with servers. Strider nailed it. Bungie and Respawn are throwing out a new product. Ubisoft is probably producing the most unique titles in The Division and Watch Dogs... Even Drive Club looks highly innovative for the racing genre. When it comes to Sequels at least MGSV is bringing something radically different to the MGS universe in the form of sandbox gameplay. inFAMOUS: Second Son is pushing the limits of the sandbox with insane new powers and abilities you can swap between. I never was a fan of turn based RPGs, so I don't have anything invested in Square... I'd be hard pressed to tell you a game I've played made by them... but it seems they've taken the COD route of lets just cookie cutter some games together with the FF or KH labels while our die hard fans wait and hope for some real sequels that we might make 3 console generations from now... Even more funny how they will make a X-2 or a -2 of anything except VII which is what everyone wanted in the first place.
  13. I never thought I'd see something Top Manborg... but this is gonna be it.
  14. Finished Season 1 of Blood+ I like it, but Funi dropped the ball with David... his voice is the most uninspired performance I've ever heard... I guess it kinda matches his monotonous character... it just seems out of place.

    1. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

Not really a spoiler but it wouldn't work, Saya is different in every series (as in what she is). Still would of been nice if they tied in together.

  19. New shirts and pants, some cash, gift cards... Steam gave me L4D2 after a lengthy effort.
  20. I destroyed 4 vehicles in a round and it only counted 2 for that mission.... i wonder if hitting share screws it up...
  21. Geez that would piss me off so bad. Its bad enough you get shot at from every direction when you pick up the bomb on Obliteration. Nothing super impressive. I just like the musical touch.
