Katana's are not fragile at all if its a real katana. If you are talking about the ones you can buy off QVC, then yes. But a true janapese forged katana can take several years to make, folding steel over and over again into the perfect blade. http://www.cashanwei.com/category/l6-bainite-katana/4106 < this is made by an American that learned the technique, its highly praised but one made by a Japanese master would cost you almost $10,000. Face to face with a zombie, a katana is a far superior weapon than an axe, some of the high end katana's can slice through 9 inches of bamboo with a single strike, and the blades do not wear like normal steel. An axe is more likely to get stuck in a body unless you have one of those insane medieval beheading axes which would be far heavier and impractical. If you are faced with more than one zombie, the last thing you need is spending time pulling your weapon out of another body. The katana has piercing abilities that the axe does not, giving you a more versatile way to fight when facing more than one. Even as the blade dulls, the piecing ability will remain. The axe as a versatile tool, is superior to the katana. It has many applications as you mentioned, busted down doors, getting wood for fire, and pending on the shape of the blade, you could use it as a grappling hook. If the blade goes dull, it does have smashing power with the butt end if its not a double sided weapon... however, smashing expends more energy than piercing. The edge will not hold up as well smashing into bone, and wood. Its not forged like a true katana and will need to be sharpened more regularly. They both have pros and cons, and honestly it would be best to have both. If I was on the run, Id pick the katana, but my current choice of survival I'd rather have the axe... as far as guns. Id work to obtain suppressors for all of them. I don't have any rifles chambered in big caliber, suppressors for those would be useless as even with sound reduction its still quite loud.

Why not? You can never be too prepared! Before I was old enough to purchase my own firearms, Knives were my thing. I'd probably find a good place to bunker up. The coastline sounds good until the tropical season begins. With no way to track the weather like we can with NOAA, it would be dangerous to live there. I'd head for Montana or Tennessee, or some other wilderness state and keep within a certain distance of a river. I'll take my more survivable chance of getting flooded, but I'd prefer a mountainous region like the smokies that are very habitable. The river would supply a drinkable water source, along with food. I'd find my self one of those abandoned cabins and fortify it. I might be able to utilize the river for a small electrical source using a water wheel. It would take a while, but while I still had vehicles with fuel, I'd def work on getting some solar panels and attempting a DIY job in all the free time I had. I'd focus on harnessing electricity on the sole fact of food storage. The biggest hazards would be bears and other dangerous wildlife, but at the same time they could be a layer of protection. Territorial animals would attack walkers... and I'll assume animals cannot turn, and if they could, they would not be fast movers. I don't think I'd trust anyone outside of people I knew. If anyone came looking for assistance I'd likely kill them on sight. I'm not going to fall into a trap where someone takes what I have worked hard to put together. "I GOTTA CLEAR!"

Vikings - History Channel Original Series
DeathscytheX replied to Sledgstone's topic in Movies, TV & Books
I'm thinking this season he will spend more time fueding with the Earl until they clash and he takes him out. By the series season preview from the debut ep, it looks like they do battle with each other. While he does this, they will probably plant the seeds for season two and Ælla.- 39 replies

Vikings - History Channel Original Series
DeathscytheX replied to Sledgstone's topic in Movies, TV & Books
He probably escapes and goes an attacks the other 3 kings, and in the end they all team up together to bring him down I doubt they will be entirely accurate. Him and that King will probably long standing rivals throughout the series' seasons. Hell, he might not even kill him.- 39 replies

http://comicbook.com/blog/2013/03/17/the-walking-dead-finale-27-characters-to-die/ 27 People will die at the end of this season.. wow. They are certainly doing some roster clean up. Thinking about it: Rick, Carl, Merle, Daryl, and Machonne are all safe, with Merle being the most likely to get the ax of this group. I don't think that will be the case since they brought him back for this season. These are the most battle hardened core of the Prison group. They are the biggest assets to keeping everyone safe. Characters that likely survive but wouldn't be a surprised if they were killed: Tyreese, Glenn, Maggie, Beth, Judith. Glenn, Tyreese, and Maggie are the strongest candidates for survival... sentiment aside the rest are a burden to the group when it comes to situations like these... It would really be a waste to kill off Tyreese when you just introduced him midway though the season for some half-assed attempt at fanfare for the graphic novel readers. But his gullible nature isn't boding well for him, and how can you go back to Rick's group after his outburst? Likely characters that will die: Governor, Martinez, Milton, Carol, Tyreese's group, Hershel. Hershel's leg is a huge disadvantage, I'd hate to see it, but I think he may be the most likely of these to get killed outside of the Governor. Like Judith, he is a burden to the group when on the run. For this conflict to end Martinez would likely need to die along with the Governor, unless they try to use that little scene between Daryl and Himself to call a truce after realizing all this bloodshed isn't worth dying over. The only thing that would stop Martinez from being killed is Milton dying. Someone has to pick up the trash and handle Woodbury in the aftermath. There are 34 residents, so even if the Prison group didnt lose a single person, they would still be some left, and I doubt they will be adopted by Rick. One of these two characters may live, but not both. Carol is a horrible shot and has seen a massively reduced roll this season its just a hunch... Tyreese's group will likely not make the cut. That's too many people to join the prison group. Allen and Ben are being pushed as unlikeable characters, His wife may survive, but I doubt it. Characters that should die, but most likely will not: Andrea... Yeah they'll probably keep her around, and to make us hate her even more as if she hasn't screwed up enough stuff, Milton will probably save her life at the cost of his own... I also fear that she will be the one that gets to kill the Governor after shes already had ample time to do so. This will also mean that the whole damn fiasco could have been avoided in the 1st place. But Hey, maybe all is not lost.... maybe Milton and Martinez both die and she has to stay there to lead woodbury as Rick and his gang go on their merry way never to see her annoying ass again. We can only hope.

Snacks Doritos Jacked Ranch Dipped Hot Wings
DeathscytheX commented on Sledgstone's blog entry in Snack Reviews
These are the best Doritos ever... screw your coworkers!! Let them smell vinegar! -
Sriracha sauce is 100X hotter than these chips... but I really like the chips. Sriracha fixes all shitty cheap food... but for starters I recommend this method to enjoy it: get some celery hearts... pop off some celery sticks... pour your favorite ranch dressing in its crevice, and then squeeze a thin line of Sriracha on top of the ranch filled canyon. This is the most well known brand, and I support it.

Vikings - History Channel Original Series
DeathscytheX replied to Sledgstone's topic in Movies, TV & Books
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ragnar_Lodbrok Well what has me worried is that in a Historical sense, the King's land he is currently raiding is the king that had him executed. lol I hope this series goes on for more than one season.- 39 replies

I'm kinda hoping Martinez gets killed off with the Governor and Milton takes over Woodbury. I didn't like him at first because I thought he was just some weird sniveling little rat, but he's coming off as a good person now.

I hate how Tyrese keeps falling for the Governor's BS. I'd hate to see him get killed in all of this.... I wish he would have dropped that clown into the pit of biters though.

The Samsung GS3 screen looks pretty dim to me... and I have seen it on full brightness. It looks good, but to me it just doesnt seem to be the "best ever" like ive read. I don't see the One's 1080p LCD screen being far off from either.

I hate iOS for its restrictive nature. Thats one thing I was taken back by when I got my iPhone, I couldn't just set anything I wanted as a ringtone or alert without needless hassle. I didn't mind giving it up at the time because of all the apps, and stuff I couldn't do before... As for Windows. I'm treating it like I did Android. I'll stay back and watch it progress and see where it goes. I love customization, and I love tinkering with every little setting on a phone. I'm ready for the android jump.
