  2. I played through the first two making sure everyone survived except for the inevitable once instance you had to choose. I was rewarded greatly with amazing conclusions for all my characters... ME3 did them justice... ME3's biggest failure was:
  3. Ugh I couldn't stand Garrus in ME1 since I favor playing renegade. It wasn't just his persona which improved for me in ME2, its that he'd always die on me in battle . I ran with Wrex and Liara. I swapped out Miranda, Mornith, Thane, and Grunt in the second one. EDI, Javik, Liara, and Tali in the 3rd. I should include Wrex in this list. I was upset they replaced him with Grunt in the second game because he did not build that same relationship with you as Wrex did as he slowly grew on you from being a rude and distant Korgan. I'd give Garrus a chance in all 3 games... I guess its just the way I play that causes him to go down so fast, because it never failed in any of the games. I played Solider every game as well because I liked more firepower over actual special abilities. Although a totally different game. I learned to prefer this play style from KOTOR because Solider/Jedi Guardian had a faster feat progression than the other classes. Plus the use of heavy armor, because in any game I play I'm pretty gung ho and careless unless I'm absolutely forced to be patient.
  4. Ever had a video game crush? Or not even a crush... just a character that you felt a strong emotional attachment too through tough quests/long series of events, or prolong interaction with? This would probably affect RPG players more than anyone else. Without giving away any major spoilers, what are some characters that affected your emotions throughout your gaming experiences? Bastila Shan: KOTOR Bastila was a major character that played a huge part in your quest during Knights of the Old Republic. Although a bit naggy at first, she later became a lot more dynamic depending on how you played your story out. KOTOR was one of those games where you really cared for all of your crew. She was probably the first video game character I felt a true connection with as I went along on my quests. Its a true testament to BioWare's story telling talents tha Miranda Lawson: Mass Effect 2/3 Meh.. she was hot with awesome powers. A valuable party member during the heat of battle... her story wasn't even that great until ME3. Anyways... BioWare... hotness Otacon: Metal Gear Solid Bastila may have been the first character I fell for, but years before that, Otacon was a character that felt like a real friend that was there for you. Despite his pathetic first impression, as the MGS series went along, you just gotta love Otacon. He may have never been able to help out physically, but he always provided vocal support and had some kind of gadget or gizmo to help out out. Barry Burton: Resident Evil Barry was awesome when you played as Jill in RE1. He always showed up to save your butt at the most opportune times, or just provide you with some needed equipment. To this day I think its a sham he didn't get his own RE game. Since this game is very old, I'll take the liberty of some spoilers... as many times as I had played through RE1. I always tried my hardest not to let Barry die.. in the original PS1 version, it all depended on a few sequences of events and a direction you ran in some pathways to determine his fate. My first play through, only Jill and him made it out, I had no clue that he could die out of sheer luck until I played through again and got that result. The Gamecube remake of RE1 made Barry's story even better... he will remain to be one of my favorite NPC's of all time.
  5. Sadly I jokingly called this a few days ago... ugh. Megan Fox is not sexy anymore. She was a beautiful woman but now all the plastic surgery screwed her face up. If she wanted to fix anything, she should of had surgery on her big toe thumbs... just google Megan Fox Thumb if you want to see these horrors. Gone are the days of: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WDQzALOH9iU and:
  6. The history of my gaming news sources over the past 15-20 years 1. Game Informer Magazine 2. gamespot.com 3. IGN 4. Kotaku Kotaku is starting to get a little too politcal and opinionated, keep that shit on Gawker. I'm thinking about jumping to Joystiq if I have to sort though more gun control articles on a gaming website. Ironic how they do that and then post articles about how awesome it is that laser cannons from such and such game are close to becoming reality.
  7. I remember when IGN was king. I actually use to pay the yearly subscription for IGN premium to get the live stream of E3 before everyone started doing it for free. I mainly use Kotaku for my gaming news seeing as they take news from every gaming site and pool it into their page. With less releases, there is less to cover. I can understand why this is happening. In fact I am feeling that the gaming industry has reached an apex and will start to decline or even crash hard in the coming years. Gaming is no longer the common man's hobby, its more geared towards the hardcore competitive gamer. Like casual gaming? You'll be stuck with phone apps and social media, console gaming is now limited to the massive blockbusters. Fewer and fewer people are willing to pay $60 for a game with no replay value, and I really dont understand why there hasnt been tiered prices for games like that. Greed I guess. In a way COD has brought gaming to its highest point, and will bring it to its lowest point. It will fade in popularly sooner or later just like Madden before it... the only question is what will take its place?
  8. Deep Down looks good, but as with the Killzone Trailer I don't trust Sony that its not a rendering of "game play" inFAMOUS was an awesome game, I haven't played 2 yet, but its not awesome enough to warrant loyalty to a console. http://www.vg247.com/2011/05/10/guerrilla-recalls-the-controversy-surrounding-killzone-2s-e3-2005-trailer/
  9. http://www.thescoreonline.com/six-problems-with-todays-playstation-4-briefing/ http://kotaku.com/5985824 Sounds like excuses to me. PS3 threw their lot in and failed, they either were being too cautious or they just don't have everything in place and tried to show up to the game too early. Microsoft now has the prime opportunity to show them up big time. They'll have their console on display, They'll have realtime gameplay, and they will emphasize console abilities that the Xbox has, that PS4 won't have... or maybe it will, but it wont matter because like the "low information voter" the "low information buyer" will hear it from MS first after not hearing it from Sony and associate the difference from there. We might even see Illumiroom. Few things I expect at the unveiling of Xbox -A console with its modified controller that has a good D-pad - D3/Destiny and any game the PS4 put on display not made by an in-studio developer -People on stage actually playing the game in real time instead of rendered videos -Call of Duty Next Gen, MS keeps its timed exclusives Possible bombshells -Battlefield 4 apparently gamestop employee's got to see it in action recently, it has playable content, I think we'll have to wait for a separate event like E3 to see it though as BF has always been a PC first game. -MGS: Zero Grounds comes to MS first Hideo Kojima has been loyal to playstation for years, Metal Gear Rising changes that this year. -Respawn Entertainment's Debut game http://www.1up.com/news/respawn-debut-game-speculation
  10. They will, and they will also receive their own "exclusive content". With as much flak as D3 has recieved for its lack of endgame... which I haven't played the game since a little after I beat it the first time. Its surprising that this will be released on consoles without a solution to that issue. Its bad enough you can level up almost completely through the second play through, and have no way to become stronger versus more difficult champion enemies... especially since there are 2 more play throughs of difficulty afterwards. For ranged characters its feasible but with a barbarian its impossible. It looks to me that PS online will be canned for PS world. I doubt your account will be transferred. PS online alone is archaic compared to XBL. Jumping from that platform to a far more advanced platform doesn't seem like it would translate very well..
  11. I can see MS doing something similar, but I kinda hope just to see your XBL account transfer into the new system and have all your XBLA games in your library. I don't really care about Backwards compatibility of my old hard copies, because I don't have that many, but it shouldn't be hard to make an emulator that plays XBLA games. I def will play Limbo again in the future.
  12. They didn't even show the actual console... the inFamous trailer was clearly prerendered... not a single bit of gameplay as with the rest of their "demos" except for drive club.
  13. PS4 announced, showed games, the controller, but no console? wtf? Fail

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

I noticed that too. They didn't show the actual console at all. wtf. I watched most of the meeting, it was so slow I stopped watching and jumped on borderlands for a while. :P

  14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irq7oTnvfqE Here is the reveal. Lightbar? Sounds like Wii... Watching the "Demos" I'm reminded how Sony prerendered all the trailers during the PS3 announcements, not notably Killzone 2... and here we go again with a Killzone trailer... Its hard for me to trust and It honestly looks no better than the Killzone 2 trailer back in 2005/2006. Click here to view the article

  16. Yup, you'll def need to pay to play. I'm following PS4, but I'm pretty content on going with Microsoft exclusively next gen.
  17. http://www.collegehumor.com/facebook-history Alexander the Great: You seem pretty chill, is there anything you want from me? Diogenes: Just Step out of my sunlight Alexander the Great: Badass, man. Its pretty old, but I see its been updated since last I saw it. Funny stuff.
  18. http://kotaku.com/5985356/source-the-ps4-will-be-out-this-november-and-youll-be-able-to-control-it-with-your-phone?utm_campaign=Socialflow_Kotaku_Facebook&utm_source=Kotaku_Facebook&utm_medium=Socialflow As I suspected there will be a $429.99 model with probably the bare minimum that will be far less appealing than the $529.99 model.

    Destiny

The original Xbox live was shut down in 2010. It came out in 2001 and the console was discontinued in 2007. 360 came out in 2005. So I'd expect the same time frame. They'll keep making money off 360 live subscriptions at first. I don't think they'll shut down the current XBL until there aren't enough paying subscribers and/or activity on the network to warrant paying people to maintain it.
  20. This first season was really to set up for the last game that came out. It seems to be based a little more in "realism" than season 2... I enjoyed it... a lot of people had sour grapes over it because of the 1st concept trailer 'Mortal Kombat: Rebirth' was thought to be a movie. They actually will be making a movie due out this year according to IMDB. Who knows. I'm thinking more like 2014. It will be based off the above trailer.

  22. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=5l3jrR5XMSU The Trailer for Mortal Kombat: Legacy season 2 has arrived, and to the delight of many fans of the original 1995 film, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa will reprise his role as Shang Tsung. This season will run similar to the previous with individual webisodes focusing on loosely intertwining storylines between characters. It looks like a lot more money has been put into the production with better special effects and improved costumes. No word other than "Koming Soon" when Season 2 will debut. If you haven't seen Season one, It can be found here: Mortal Kombat: Legacy Click here to view the article
