  1. Right now there are no guns, but all the big streamers seem to think they'll add them eventually, and I wouldn't doubt it. There are less guns in this game than there were in WAW. Right now its all cosmetics, XP boosters, and unlocks you could buy with your tokens you get from challenges and orders. I got an MG42 variant that gives me 15% more xp per kill. The launch of this game has been a train wreck though. I can't play with friends more than one match without getting booted to the main menu. I beat the campaign and it didn't disappoint. Overall it's top 3. The end was a bit anti-climatic in how it was done, but it definitely had several memorable moments.
  2. Against my better judgement I broke down and got this game. My clan has pretty much stopped playing D2 and since I have everything at 305 I don't have any drive to play it right now. The mutliplayer is pretty meh. Every map is uninspired, everything is a hallway, trench, bunker, or small room. I can barely stay alive long enough to get a kill. Getting 2 without dying feels like an achievement in itself. The TTK is fine, and the guns are ok... but the maps just aren't very good, which has been the case for COD for years now. The social aspect of it is pretty neat, along with the daily and weekly challenges but I think people play War for these as your KD is untouched in that game mode. Quickscoping is back and its annoying as ever. The Lee Enfield is super OP that even I'm good with it. Thats a bad sign, because I've always been hot garbage at sniping in COD. War is actually really fun. But there are only 3 maps for it sadly. Its a damn shame they came up with something like this only to not really invest in the chance that it could work. Like I said previously it doesn't touch your KD which is good as people care too much about it in COD. You're going to die a lot in this mode unless you're just a selfish prick in which you should be playing TDM or FFA. This comes with a double edged sword though.. I notice people are using their worst guns and I even saw someone use the shovel the entire match... I guess people are going to farm this mode for camo challenges without taking the hit on their KD. Now to the part where I don't regret buying this... the campaign is fucking amazing. The story is the best in the whole series so far... I'm pretty close to the end, but I'd rank it above Modern Warfare right now. Kudo's to Sledgehammer for such a great narrative story full of insane watershed moments around every corner. The campaign has a mix of everything. Stealth, Jeep chasing, Tank driving, fighter pilot, sniper supporting AI, to the traditional shoot and cover. However this one plays a lot different. You can't just rambo everything or you will die very fast. There is no regenerating health. Instead you rely on med packs that you have to use with its own animation. At first I was distraught over this, but I got use to it pretty fast. Med packs can be found laying around, but also there is a new squad mechanic throughout the story. 4-5 NPCs provide support like this off reasonable cool downs. One will have a med pack available (you can hold up to 4 at a time for about a 60% heal each), another will refill your ammo, one for your nades, one for a mortar strike, and one can highlight enemies out of cover. Not all of these will be available at all times every mission. Even the med pack guy isn't with you at times. This game is stunningly beautiful, and the facial animations are the most life like I've ever seen. All of them look like the actors that play them IRL. The must have mocaped them all, because the show of emotion with the excellent voice acting just brings it to life. I got 5 or 6 hours into it, and I'm sure I'm near the end.... so its about standard COD length, but its still very good.
  3. I don't remember the shotgun guys being that big of an issue, but then again I refused to pick up some weapons. I always stuck with the AK/AR and the burst fire pistol or uzi type pistol. If i picked up a sniper or grenade launcher I'd use all the ammo right there and pick up my assault rifle again. I did to a ton of sneaking though. This one just seemed built a lot better for it. You def died a lot faster getting lit up. You're probably right about it being the last game in the series, especially since Amy Hennig left Naughty Dog in the middle of U4's development. I could see an U5 on PS5 where they do an Indiana Jones gumpy old man type deal but thats about it.
  4. The Last Word would actually be viable in the autorifle/MIDA meta. I'd love to have Red Death on my hunter, just because my recovery is pure shit. Its annoying as hell to find recovery armor for Hunters. Mobility is the most useless shit stat. Bungie needs to rework that whole thing where classes are pigeon holed into those 3 categories because hunters got the shit end of the stick. My Warlock is maxed at 10, and my Titan is at 7. My Hunter is at like 3 or 4 and is miserable trying to stay alive or fight with low health in "oh shit" situations. It feels like an eternity before it starts to regen.
  5. Invective would probably be as useless as Fighting Lion in the energy slot. The appeal would be there regenerating power ammo. Yeah their capacities would be nerfed, but I'd rather have that than a damage nerf. Shotguns are pretty shit in PvE as it is compared to RLs, Swords, and Fusion Rifles... Sniper Rifles too... you're right, they don't belong in the power slot at all because they just arent as effective. They could do a cleanse thorn quest where you couldn't use it at all until it turned back into Rose. You're also right about Hand Cannons, they are pretty shit in D2 PvP... actually outside of Sunshot and Better Devils, HC are shit in general. I'd take The Last Word back at this point. I do miss that gun as wacky as it was with the hip fire.
  6. FML. They better bring back Red Death, Ice Breaker, Invective, and Mythoclast back if they are going to put this bullshit back in the game. Call to Arms will be even more miserable every week.
  7. I liked them both equally. The whole Max/Lucas thing was cute while not being forced. They did a good job of introducing new characters without disrupting the flow between the original season 1 cast. The payoffs of the story lines this season were really good. They can't make too many more of these honestly, because these kids are going to hit puberty and look like they aged 10 years at some point between seasons like Carl on TWD or Bran Stark in GoT. I'd cut it off after Season 3, and then maybe make a season 4 in about 5 years when they've grown a lot. They're all playing 10 year olds when they're 14-16 in real life. Nancy, Steve, and Jonathan are in their 20s.... and they guy that plays Jonathan got deported for cocaine. http://deadline.com/2017/10/stranger-things-star-charlie-heaton-banned-from-us-entry-because-of-drugs-1202196575/
  8. There would be no point really. The purpose of the kingdoms is because you can only travel so far with the power moons you gained from the last one to track down Bowser, so you keep going from kingdom to kingdom to gather more moons to go further. With how the industry is going, Nintendo might be the only company that will still make single player adventure games that don't have DLC.
  9. Nah. I had 2 of my characters to 305 last week and got my Warlock to 305 this week as I was waiting for a bond to drop to finish it off. Now I don't have anything to do and will probably only play on Tuesdays unless someone needs me for a nightfall run. If they make the raid the only way to get max level in the DLC, I'll probably quit playing though. While there is 8-9 people in my clan, no one is ever on at the same time long enough to even do the first raid. I don't think they'll do this, but there is speculation now that updates on all 3 platforms will be simultaneously released. Then again if they want to keep selling to casuals, they probably won't if they keep the level and power requirements to do missions and content in place. I think the light increase will give me another reason to grind. There is a some quality of life updates coming out soon that will fix a lot of empty instances for solo players, and improved rewards for strikes, which will be good. I'd like to run strikes with friends, but we all agree there is no point right now when you can just farm public events for the same thing. I think its pretty cool everyone will get to see the lighthouse now that never could get to it in D1, learning about Osiris will be cool, but I'm more excited for the second DLC and Rasputin. You actually reactivate a war mind network on Io which gives Rasputin expanded access to the solar system. There is a side adventure I mentioned earlier that dealt with this. If you're interested in how it may connect here is a neat video.
  10. The outfits are mostly fashion. There are some that can be bought with normal coins, and some with kingdom specific purple coins that are more difficult to collect. The purple coins will buy you an outfit themed to that kingdom and there is usually a locked door an NPC will only let you into when dressed in said outfit. You only have 3 hearts per life, you can find and/or buy a power heart that will give you 6. This is mostly a waste to buy because the game is so easy, you'll only need 3. If you die, you only lose 10 coins and get to start at a pretty decent checkpoint. Most of the time you'll drop those 10 coins like Sonic loses his rings, and can pick them all back up. The 6 hearts are only temporary and they go away if you lose them. You can refill them with standard heart drops as long as you don't drop to 3. Sometimes you'll get a power heart and fall to your death losing the extra 3 without ever getting to benefit from them. There are no upgrades. I beat the game yesterday, and there is still a lot to do after you finish if you like to explore. I rage quit after I hit a pretty tough 2D puzzle that had a lot of bullet bills flying everywhere while there was a map hazard that you pop you out of the 2D mode into 3D and caused you to fall to your death. Breath of the Wild is the superior game and its not even close... of course not much comes close to BoTW. Its a masterpiece. Odyssey is great, Sunshine is still my favorite, but Odyssey is definitely a step in the right direction for the series. The sound and music was amazing. The Metro Kingdom and Sand Kingdom were my favorites. It seemed more time was spent on their development than the others.
  11. Nothing new, but I like this one because I don't play in cockpit mode, I play in this one. Once again I'm overjoyed to see Dogfight mode not in this game.
