  1. But as Myk pointed out, the wolf is just a skin for Dogs. I forgot about it after I watched a 20min play through. You can befriend dogs and they'll do the same thing. So it's really not some extra character for having the Amiibo, it's just another skin. If a $3 Amiibo unlocked dlc like an extra dungeons, I'd probably pick it up so long as there wasn't like 10 a game. Paying $6-9 for some extra content is better than $15 for an hour mission like some other games.
  2. Ehhhh. Like I said, it probably wont matter much to me. I can play all of Zelda without a wolf, honestly I'd prefer it because that character doesn't belong in that timeline (Muh Immersion). Amiibo's wouldn't sell without those perks. I'm not sure how far it will go on the Switch though because they are getting rid of the Miiverse altogether. Miis will stay on Wii U, but they wont be on Switch. That throws Amiibo into question to me. If it unlocked characters for Smash Bros, I'd be kinda pissed, but a skin for Mario Kart looks pretty garbage too me. I rather just be Bowser or Mario that my crappy Mii with a junky looking skin. Plus I'd never play Mario Kart online, so no one would see the skins and it would make them pointless for me. 99.9% of the games I buy for switch will be single player. While the Wolf is neat, I bet its as useful as the Spirit Wolf elite skill in GW2. Once you get geared up and face tougher opponents, it will be garbage.
  3. Technically it's the same season as "last season" Its still season 4 as weird as that is. The vikings are a bunch of whores. "Oh you cheated on me, I hope it was enjoyable" wtf? So many love triangles going on right now, no one has the right to be pissed at Ragnar. The difference for Floki was that the Muslims were worshiping an invisible god to him. The Christians had all there symbols like the golden crucifix and what not. When he saw the Muslims praying, there was no symbols, statues, or emblems. I think it was confusing more than anything else for him. Plus they didn't fight back with an army like the Saxons.
  4. While this season has been pretty good. I doubt it will last past a season 5. Once they kill off Lagertha that will be the end of the story. I'm not convinced the sons can carry on the show and keep it interesting. Rollo is really the most famous of all of them that are left, as his lineage eventually produces William the Conqueror, but I doubt we see much more of them as well. Ecbert will probably be killed by Aethelwulf, or he'll let him die at the hands of the vikings.
  5. Meh sadly its a big hit with the target audience. I see the younger people on my feed go crazy trying to find certain ones. I'll never get into them. I guarantee that Wolf will only be able to help in open world. I bet it can't be used in dungeons, shrines, or temples. The Pro Controller is $10 more than a PS4 controller, but the battery life is almost triple. Its not that big of a deal to me. I didn't preorder one yet, and now it seems they're all sold out. Honestly I wish they'd make an Gamecube controller instead like they did for Smash Bros on the Wii U. If you made a GC controller with the refinement of a PS4 controller, it would probably be my favorite ever.
  6. But the Pro Controller is a regular controller. They just call it that. I bet you only get 1 cord to charge the joycons, so it will take 6 hours to charge them all unless you get a second cord. The joycons will only last 20 hours while the pro will last 70 hours. I'd say its worth the purchase. That PS4 charge cord is really small. I bought a 9ft cord that i use for my phone and the controller just so I can use them both while they charge from anywhere in my room.
  7. They didn't show it for some reason. It was an after announcement. I guess they didn't want to highlight any Wii U ports that are already out.
  8. The first episode is free... sadly the rest is only for YTR. I'm tempted to do the free trial just to watch this series though.
  9. The Wii U version will be available with all the DLC. So it's like a game of the year edition with even more tracks and characters from splatoon.
  10. As someone that is more than willing (than the stereotypical casual gamer) to spend money on gaming when it suits my interests. I think Nintendo tried too hard to keep the price at $300 and not lose money. They never sell at a loss, and at this point, they can no longer afford to with how bad their relationship had degraded with 3rd party support. Hopefully they can rebuild that. I can see a new switch coming out next year with better battery life similar to how they do their handhelds these days... when they get their manufacturing costs down more I can see better bundles coming out for the old Switch like the controller dock that charges both joycons at once and a Pro Controller. But right now I see a lot of people that don't really read up on the Switch being disappointed or feeling tricked when they realize they'll need to spend another $150 to fill in those cost cutting decisions Nintendo made. The more interesting thing that no one really ever talks about is battery degeneration. How long will the battery hold that 3-6hr charge? Honestly, for heavy users, it will only be good for 1-2 years much like a cellphone. Battery tech has yet to break through its current peak. When the battery becomes as useless as AA's in a gamegear, can it be replaced? Probably not for the causal user. I only put down my preorder for Zelda, I must play it... and then my Switch will collect dust until Mario. Its been 11 years since I've owned a Nintendo console, and I miss those games. I'm not big on innovation... I'm old, and I just like to play games with a controller XD. I'll have bought 3-5 more PS4 games between BoTW and Mario. My Switch will never leave its dock unless i want to watch netflix or funi in bed like I've said. I expect a metroid prime because dammit, 1 and 2 were some of the most amazing games I've ever played. Playing Prime at a Babbage's made me instantly need to have a gamecube that day. Without gimmicks, hopefully we can get back to the games I love, on one screen with a controller in hand.
  11. Started Kuromukuro on Netflix. So far its Encino Man meets Linebarrels of Iron with a dash of Aldnoah.Zero. XD Some pretty great comedy and action.

School is as relevant as it is in Inuyasha if I had to make a comparison. :P

I just finished this and It was probably my favorite Netflix Original. They slowly moved away from the comedy and kept it to a minimum as the story got serious. It worked well as keeping the type of comedy they used would have gotten bland with heavy usage.

I assume Netflix Original means they merely did the dub work. Between Seven Deadly Sins, Ajin, and Kuromukuro, I'd say they did a great job so far. Although they use a lot of the same talent that Funi uses. The female lead also voices Sailor Venus/Lucy Heartfilia and the male lead also voiced Vash the Stampede. I also found some familiars in the supporting cast like Milly Ashford, Inspector Zenigata, and Lelouch Lamperouge. A lot of the supporting cast hasn't done much in Funi's circle so it's nice to hear different voices every once in a while. Not everyone is as talented as Christopher Sabat.

  12. I saw this the other day. It's def too violent for the film. getting your arm cut off by a saber is one thing, but getting it brutally ripped off is another. It was a nice tribute to A New Hope tho.
  13. It looks a lot better on the switch to me. I was surprised how bad the Wii U looked. The colors are worse and some of the textures don't pop up until you get close enough. I have a friend had has a Wii U and all I ever played on it was Mario Kart which looked pretty good. I'm curious who is a port to who tbh because the E3 Wii U BoTW was plagued with frame rate drops.
  14. The end of Feb through the end of March looks great for gaming to me. Nier Automata, Zelda, and Mass Effect. It been a while since there has been back to back to back games I wanted to play.

About the only thing I'm looking forward to is Mass Effect (and I'm somewhat on the fence about that, I'm not letting the hype draw me in this time around like I did BF1. I'll pre-order it most likely but unlike with ME3 I won't get the CE).

With funds still being limited I gotta pick and choose my games carefully (and while Zelda does look good I can't afford to drop $300 + whatever Zelda will cost just to play it). Nier looks good but I can't justify dropping money on another game when I still have a backlog to go through (not as terrible as Sledge's but it's still hefty and its all games that require more then 40 hours to get through (I'm looking at you Skyrim, DA, and FFX/X-2)).

I just realized Horizon Zero Dawn is mixed in there too. X_x too much.

Ah fuck I forgot about it as well. Shit, guess I'm going to broke for awhile

  15. Now that I'm not at work. The cel shading in this game isn't as cartoony as Windwaker. I use to be a big hater of Cel shade, but overtime I've become indifferent to it as long as it's used in the right capacity. Windwaker was an outstanding game, and its a shame that was overshadowed by its graphical choice. BoTW uses more of a Borderland's style which is one I'm pretty fond of. With how underpowered Switch will be, and its need to operate for almost 3 hours minium in portable mode, I'd expect more than less Cel shade games in Nintendo's future. Its less demanding... while by all accounts it uses the same polygons, it uses less colors. The trick is to make something beautiful out of it. I remember a racing game by the name of Auto Modellista that was cel shaded and it was a pretty great game... plus it made the car customization pretty fun as well. I posted about an MMO called Soul Worker solely because of its cel shade graphics and how amazingly close they look to anime. I think the technology has come a long way since Windwaker and that TMNT gamecube game. I'm more surprised that there isn't a big fuss about character's using real language to talk.... but then I looked up skyward sword and apparently it was used there first... and from what I saw, the voice acting is very bad. It seems better for this game. Here is a demo playthrough
  16. it looks like it's a mix of real world and Mario world. It looks great to me. Mario Sunshine was amazing, hopefully this will be just as fun.
  17. Now that I think about the mobile aspect. I'd probably use it to watch Netflix or Funi in bed.
  18. I'm 100% sure the option is there, and it's completely optional.
  19. Those pant-shorts are killing me.
