  1. Overall it was a very lackluster event which spent most of the time talking about features that will be used for shovelware much like the Wii. There will be an indy market for motion control games, but Nintendo knew it needed a traditional controller set up for 3rd party AAA devs to make games for them. Xenoblade 2 looked good... but that RPG from square has me like "really?" All you could come up with was some 8bit graphics game? Hope you don't want $50 for it. The Legend of Zelda trailer at the end blew me away, it looks incredible. Mario Odyssey looks good too, but its not a launch title. I mean, c'mon? Really? 2 big first party games at launch isn't going to really hurt each other considering it will be the only things worth playing for the first 6 months of its life. I'll probably pick one up anyways. Zelda and Mario I want... and I know there will be a Super Smash Bros game down the road. I could only hope for a new Donkey Kong Country. I doubt I'll subscribe to their online service as I'd only buy single player games. Smash Bros would be one reason, but they'd have to have a lot more than that to get me on board.
  2. The game doesn't sound very deep, but the graphics caught my eye. I could dream of something like a Cowboy Bebop/Space Dandy universe MMO with graphics like this.
  3. https://www.vg247.com/2017/01/09/mass-effect-andromeda-wont-be-getting-a-season-pass/ No season pass.
  4. Thats why I used GS in PvP the downside being you have to give up focus if you want max burn. GS leap is still a gap closer, whirlwind is great DPS, plus you get another pull. Bow just seems too easy to dodge. That pink Moa was so damn annoying, but with GS5 you can grab the ranger and the pet and pull them, drop a symbol, and GS2... they can take it or burn up all their stamina getting out of it, swap to sword and close in, or drop the Purge on them... they cant dodge unless they have lighting strike slotted. DD has brought thief to a new level. Dash gives you auto condi-cleanse per dodge with perma-swiftness on top of it. So DD can't be chilled, crippled, and yup, you can dodge right out of immobilized. Signet of Agility will refill the endurance meter as well giving you 6 consecutive dashes/cleanses if you so desired. Its also instacast and only has a 30s CD. Assassin's signet increases power and activating it gives a guaranteed 15% more damage for the next 5 attacks. I'd argue that Thief has the best utility/trait paring in the game. It's almost hard to decide what you'd want to go with, because there are so many good options. One wrong move and you're instadead though... and they do complain about trap guards because large AoE is their weakness.... but even as a weakness its one they can avoid. They just can't engage and win. If other classes got the love and care thief did when they redid the trait system, classes would have more options to play with... as you said Warrior needs to be redone completely. Burn Guard is only good in PvP, because outside of its burst it has zero sustain, so its useless against champs and legendary enemies. Meanwhile DD and Mesmer enjoy various options and builds because their trait lines are so good... even Ele has to stick with Fire, Air, Tempest.
  5. Then Purging Flames should be your go to. If you pair with with Judge's Intervention, Spear of Justice, and Torch, you'd have an extra stack of burning. Plus I believe it does more damage, I can't remember what you get if conditions are cured off smite, but if you're using it as a burst, then Purge is the way to go. Its pretty overwhelming even if they get a cleanse off you're at a bigger advantage. You can AOE them and then close the gap with judge's. Although if I was facing a hammer warrior or ranger, I'd save my judge's in case I got knocked back. I don't know if Shelter is bugged or not, I know if you dodge before its cast, it will do the same thing on CD. Its def better in PvE, I've used it to get out of the Chak Gerent's purple donut of doom a few times or to facetank a decap charge from Cobalt if I was out of stamina. I use feel my wrath instead of renewed focus in PvE because fury/quickness every 45 seconds is great. Signet of Courage is pretty crap because it takes almost 4 seconds to cast. wtf. If it worked like Battle Standard or Signet of Undead it would be worth it, but it doesn't revive the downed, and with a 180s CD, there isn't much incentive to use something like that, unless you were fighting Lupi running Arah or something. How are you liking Guardian's complete ass of a downstate? I swear its the worst. The attack so slow and crap. Symbol of Judgement only works if you get knocked back so far away you deaggro enemies... once you get hit, it goes on CD and you're pretty much done. Necro and Thief as great AAs in downstate, and Ranger's lick wounds keeps working while being attacked, and even if you're pet got downed before you did, it will still come and revive you.
  6. Not too happy about the D.Va nerfs :/ She felt like she was in a good place. Zarya can tear her to shreds as is. That Triple Tank meta made an impact. Ana is getting a massive nerf, and Roadhog's hook can no longer pull off BS snags... although Tracer and Lucio will be almost impossible to pick off.

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

If Roadhog will be able to “throw people behind you if you spin before the hook lands" that could be OP on some maps. Imagine a good roadhog troll constantly throwing people off ledges for a one hit kill. XD

Yeah that's weird to me because it kind of breaks the line of sight rule if you turn fast and can't see them anymore. It wont be that big of a deal, because the only place you can do that is at the start of a few maps. Its already a strategy on maps you don't have to turn around on like the Well on Illios, or the temple on Napal. Its great to getting rid of the healer fast.

  7. Purging Flames > Smite Condition - They both do the same thing cleanse-wise, but Purging Flames is ground targetable, and causes burning to stack on top of the burning you already do. Shelter > All other healing skills Basically because of the block, it can't be negated and you HP pool always gets the replenish. Signet of Resolve is like an 80% heal, but in PVP I've seen it completely negated by burst combos.
  8. Yes, but if you've learned anything from anime, Americans and the American military are always portrayed as pig headed idiots, that are villainous do-gooders if we're not some futuristic world dominating empire like in Code Geass.
  9. I'm a few eps into "And you thought there is never a girl online?" Is like Haganai but a gamer's version. XD The loot box part made me chuckle when they all got let down by getting crap, along with other arguments using MMO jargon. The new influx of shows coming into Funi have been entertaining, although I've watched a few duds. Endride is probably one of their worst dubs I've seen in a long time, but I don't think the sub could fix how bad the characters were anyways. Shimoneta was pretty funny, as a lewd potty joke anime, but the ending was eh. Riddle Story of Devil was decent as well.

  10. Exactly, that Chinese law wouldn't hurt sales IMO. It would just prevent them from making money off those that don't normally buy, but feel the have a better chance at getting an item they want during a certain time like what DICE just did... which was probably a lot more notorious in China. You'll always have those same people that know there is a .0001% chance to get a certain drop, still try to get it. People love to gamble by human nature. The law just forces these companies to make more desirable, lesser quality, high % drops to entice people to keep going for that ultra rare item. GW2 does this with various things like ticket scraps, dyes, and wardrobe unlocks. Overwatch does it with in game currency per box that will let you eventually buy the item over a long period of time.
  11. That they did it, isn't the issue. Its how they did it. They deceived players that have had 8 weeks of battlepacks to get a general "feel" for them, and lumped the skin into the legendary bracket like it would have the same drop rate. Level is right, they should have made it a different color category or made it like the puzzle pieces. I know they did the same thing with the Zulu skin, because after that week I may have seen 1 person with it, pre nerf when everyone was using the hell out of the MH. Then having Strider open a good number of packs while I played with him the week Warhorse was available and the same thing... I guess I'm lucky I got that one. They're looking at their data, and adjusting the drop rates on the popular weapons, especially when they have skins that took a lot of work to make. Funny how I opened a good 6 superior battlepacks post MH nerf, and got the MH skin easily but couldn't get the frommer skin which should have been a 1 in 3 chance. You can get revolver skins all day because all of them blow unless they are the two that have fast reload animations. They are dishonest by purposely ranking skins in a traditional way players are use to, but not abiding by the same laws. Now it make since why 90% of all the legendary skins are the same camo pattern.
  12. This absolutely won't work if it ends up like movie/TV services are now. Gamers are even less likely to sub to several different services because they have the one game they want to play that's not on the service they have. Plus games can't make money like this while Movies and TV shows make revenue via theaters and sponsors. Like strider said, paying fees on top of fees is a no go for gamers. That's why MMOs don't work on console. Fiber optic Internet service will have to become the standard for this to be viable, which is probably a decade away from happening. Its one of those things thats good in concept, but in reality everyone wants a piece of the pie and you'll have too many different services walling off games to under their brand. A whole new era of 3rd party wars would start that would collapse the industry because, while it worked when you paid $600 for both consoles, now you'll pay that in a few months and more on top of it if you want to keep playing all the games you want. Origin and Steam would have their own service, then Amazon, Nvidia, Uplay, Netflix would probably get into it, WB would try to make one probably.... just a bad idea all around. Sure a lot of games would be on all the services, but they would all have exclusives trying to rake in subs.
  13. You'd be better saving your money and playing your untouched Mass Effect series.
  14. My suspicion was correct. They alter the drop rates on certain items despite the labeled quality of skins.
  15. Its been 6 months since this game came out. The player base is still quite strong in numbers. Matchmaking can take up to 2 minutes sometimes, but I think thats more of a programming issue as it can find matches in 30 seconds often, and sometimes all it takes is cancelling the search and restarting it. I play with a group of 3-4 friends more than not, solo q you can find matches instantly but you're often put in the slot of a rage quitter on a team thats getting beat down. So 6 months later this game is a lot less fun for solo q. I've played it like that sporadically waiting for friends to get on, and its pretty miserable. You can now vote to stay as a team with rando's which technically helps the solo q issue. But its a double edged sword, when it works. The fact that its there, you're most likely going into a match against people that are sticking together. But when you find some good non-mic chemistry with another group, and you vote to stay, not everyone will vote, either because they don't care... or they don't know about the feature even if it says it in the bottom right corner of the screen. Either way, its a solid effort on Blizzard's behalf to try to make a remedy. I think the feature probably suits competitive play more, and its nice they put it on every game mode. Playing with a group is a blast, and the game does it's best to team you up against another team with the same sized party/party mix. This is probably another reason party queue takes longer in a 3+ group. If I'm in a group of 4. I'll see a 4/2 comp vs. 4/2 or 4/1/1 vs 4/1/1 a good 80% of the time. There will be 4/2 vs 3/3 another 10-15% of the time, and rarely you'll see 4/2 vs. 2/2/2. Watching one of Force Gaming's video's the other day, he made a good point about buffing and nerfing, and why Blizzard is very careful about doing it. Right now Sombra is in a bad place in competitive, and as much as I love her, shes now the new Symmetra. Shes really a situational character for certain maps. (Mostly choke pointy maps where you can bypass the choke and put pressure on the point to make the other team back off and open it up for a push) Blizzard probably won't buff her to prevent what happened with Ana, who went from one of the worst heroes to a necessity for the triple tank set up. Ana is a monster now if you have the correct comp. I played arcade with a quad Roadhog team and we stomped the opposition at their spawn gate. It's pretty much impossible to miss when you got a bunch of big hitbox characters on your team, so keeping them buffed and building your alt super fast, while healing them and building their ult super fast makes for an insanely unstoppable machine. I've been dipping my toes into the support characters a bit more, and I've gotten pretty handy with Lucio lately. I never thought I could, but with my new customized controller, I can constantly jump and wall ride way more easier now, making it hell for enemies to hit me. The Symmetra buff was way over the top. Shes OP as hell now. That shield generator is amazing, and too strong IMO. It shouldn't last indefinitely. It should grant a 1 minute duration max. Right now it lasts forever until you destroy it, but on cap maps she can bunker it into a hard to get place and the defending team has a massive advantage. Sadly I think they'll nerf it a different way by decreasing its AoE or how much shield it gets... which would make it useless. As it stands currently it gives enough shield to take away those instakill burst combos from characters like Junkrat, Roadhog, Genji, and McCree. Arcade is not very fun to play when you have to face off against 3 Symms on maps with big choke points. Thats the conundrum of putting the weekly lootbox on it instead of regular quick play. You actually try to win instead of trying out new characters until you get your 9 wins. In the end. I think Blizzard has done pretty amazing for its first console IP (D3 doesn't count, although maybe it should since it feels like the original version that was released after its port to PC ). Kudo's to them for putting up with above average whiny assholes on their forums bitching about how they favor the PC version too much. With new maps and characters in development I'll keep casually playing this game well into next year. I honestly didn't know if it would stay relevant on PS4 after the COD/BF/Halo season started, but its held up, and the content they've poured into it has been better than any other competitive game out there right now.
  16. Grimgar Fantasy and Ash, the only anime I've ever watched that punched you in the feels 4 episodes in.

      Strider Hiryu

Never even heard of it (another one that slipped by me), just got done reading a summary of it on Wikipedia. It actually sounds a lot like Log Horizon just in a different world and different circumstances (sounds like the main character is trapped in the world by himself with all the NPCs). I'll have to see if I can find fansubs for it as well, definitely sounds like a show I'd like.

The memory thing is actually a major part of the story later on in Season 2 when the players actually start realizing they're loosing their memories every time they die. At first its nothing major (insignificant stuff like names of places they used to visit and what not) but as they continue to die more and more memories disappear and they start turning into mindless Thralls (which is covered in the season 2 during one of the story arcs) who can think of nothing more then dieing in combat to get back home.

I'm almost done with Overlord. Meh. It's interesting enough to finish, but the main character and all his NPCs are so OP there hasn't been any real fights or sense of danger through out the whole thing.

I finished it last night. If there was a season 2, I'd watch it. After doing a bit of research on the light novel, the story sounds pretty good. The pace of the light novel is going to cause issues as its not even finished yet and its been going since 2012. This first season was just a really long introduction to the story. I feel like this anime shouldn't have come out for another 5 years. I also learned that Tokyo Ghoul basically Fullmetal Alchemisted it's manga... which would explain why its so shit IMO.

The Japanese take a totally different approach to making anime than the west does with TV shows or Movies (Minus TWD). It seems the Manga/Light Novel gets hot, and they immediately have to start making anime off of it and pump out episodes until they run out of material. Then they choose whether to make the right decision and wait, or say  "fuck this original content" and fuck it up more often than not. Also from what I understand, new season are solely based off DVD sales rather than TV raitings and advertisement revenue like here. I get most of it, but I dont get the jumping the gun so fast on these manga's. Its irritating to wait years for another season via Attack on Titan.

  17. My favorite builds were the hoverboard and hot air balloon. Grant was in tears when he finally got it to work, he put in so many hours on it and changed it up so much til it finally flew.
  18. Thanks to this song, its hard to find clip from the actual ET movie on youtube.
  19. I just finished My Hero Academia, and now I can't wait for Season 2. All Might is like Hercule that can actually back up his boasting. XDXD
