well I got a quote on all the work that needs to be done. Some of which that doesn't need to be done to pass inspection. : Pads and rotors: front brakes $144.50 rear brakes $133.50 all together with discount: $250 : Other stuff: AC belt: $3 wheel bearings $390 tie rod ends $226 ball joints: $228 all altogether with discount: $550 auto head light switch: $106 all together with discount: $850 give or take $50 What do you guys think? Worth it or not? My mechanic said to try and get the guy who's selling it to do as much work to it as he can before selling it to you. So I'm gonna hand him a list of things that need to be done (ie. front brakes, AC belt, wheel bearings, tie rod ends, ball joints.

Well the lower ball joins need to be replaced but not just yet, said my mechanic. He said I could get away with driving it for another year before replacing them. So far the biggest things are the Rotors, pads, wheel bearings, the air conditioner belt, and this damn electrical problem. I'm gonna give my mechanic a call later today and tell him about the high beam problem/dash problem. Hopefully its not something expensive to fix. If I go over $1,500 to fix this stuff then I don't think this is gonna be worth getting :/. and ya it has 4x4 and the lights for it are kind of messed up. I showed my mechanic and he said thats pretty normally for older jeeps. As long as you can feel it engage and disengage you should be set. My 4x4 light would keep staying on part time when it was clearly not engaged at all. After shutting it off for an hour and coming back and stating it up the part time light would be gone .

Just an update on my status. I've been looking for a new Jeep for the past few months and have had no luck. Everything that I like is either way to much or has issues . This weekend I found a nice 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. So I put $100 down on it so the guy wouldn't sell it wile he was getting some of the obvious things fixed on it. For example the driver side door needed to be re hinged and realigned. So today (Thursday) the guy said I could pick it up and take it till Saturday to test drive it and get it checked out by my own mechanic. I started out happy since the Jeep only had minor issues that I could fix on my own, like radio panel didn't light up and dash panel wouldn't stay lite up because of a loose wire or messed up switch. I showed it to my mechanic who basically put it through allot of physical stress to test out what NEEDs to be fixed in order for it to pass inspection. Thats when things kind of started to suck. The front rotors need to be replaced, all brake pads and wheel bearings need to be replaced, air conditioner fan belt needs to be replaced or realigned. Which isn't that much since I can have my mechanic do it for far cheaper then a big named place. But still thats probably around $600 or $700 worth of work. My guy said it sounded like a good deal. The jeep has 108k miles on it and the guy was selling it for only $3500. Then it gets dark out. I figure id take it over to my friends house to show him and at the same time test out all the lights and make sure they don't die. So I turn on my lights and notice no problem, everything works fine. Fog lights work great, auto lights turn on because its dark. Then I turn on my high beams and the high beams die, also taking my dash and panel lights with it. So I turn my high beams on and off a few times and everything turns back on.....ya that sucks huh? So tomorrow I'm gonna call my mechanic again to see if he could test out the electrical stuff and see whats causing all the flickering. If its just a loose plug or a switch then I may buy the jeep since it runs solid and has no other problems other then crap like this. What do you guys think? Good idea, bad idea?

Which is easier? Trignometry or Math for Liberal Arts?
gokuDX7 replied to slippers's topic in Rants and Raves / Issues
You can normally take them over again if you fail, as long as you're willing to pay more for the class. But I'd suggest asking your teacher about a math tutor. Most colleges have students offering free or cheap tutoring for specific subjects. This way you can do a one on one with someone your age that knows the subject and may know a better way of teaching it to you. Every college is different though, you may have to pay a small fee for the tutor. In My college, I helped some people learn xhtml and got paid $8 per student. Which wasn't allot but it was nice since I didn't have a lot to do in my free time. -

ehh the joys of college lol. Think about it this way, is your major going to require Math or English more in the real world when you get a job? Figure that out and pick the one you will actually use more. Even if its going to be more work, at least you know you will learn something useful. I took Trig over the summer and it was one of those 6 week things. That was the worst choice I could ever make. It was way to fast pasted for me and I just barely passed the class. -

I think Mathematics For Liberal Arts is a more advanced form of word problems. My friend took something like this since she wasn't good in Trig. She still found it hard though. Trigs all about memorization of formulas. If you can memorize them then you will breeze through the class. If you have a bad memory when it comes to math, like me, then you may have a hard time with the class. Personaly I took it anyway, and then took astronamy for one of my required science classes . -
ya, I was in shock that dynDNS didn't even contact me. If I didn't try and log into my account I would have never known. Especially since I have to edit my windows HOSTS file to view my .ath.cx address. So even though it was banned, it still worked for me since I was directing the .ath.cx to my server's local address 192.168.1.100. O well. I may think about switching to no-ip soon since they seem to be pretty good with notification stuff. DynDNS keeps trying to force me to buy into their paid system where I pay like $23 a month for full phone support, DNS control, MX records, mail hopping, name server....etc. Which is a bit pricey.

booooooo Go back to the real world! No more HC pleaseeeeeee.

well at least new people are fighting now. I was getting sick of the last fight.

Search for last months or the month before (I forgot) Newtype magazine. It has spoilers for things that are set to happen next season.

Notice how this all started blowing up after Bush gave the Dalai Lama a Congressional gold medal? I think that was the last straw for the Chinese government, China is pissed and they want to show the world that. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=15374199

ehh, I just didn't like it at all. I've never read the book. I'm sure if I had, I may have liked the movie but I honestly cant say this movie was worth seeing. Tommy is ok, I just associate him with movies where hes actually doing something. This movie, he basically talked and drank coffee. I was disappointed.

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
gokuDX7 replied to gokuDX7's topic in Movies, TV & Books
It felt to fast at the start for me. We get introduced to all these characters and then they all just disappear. Then every so often we see Jesse hang out with a new random member lol. It wasn't till the mid point that I started to understand what was going on. -
no no, not your drive, you have to keep it off on your burner software. If you've never had issues with running your burnt DVD's before with your software then forget what I said. If you still want to check, when you start a burning process there should be an option to turn regional code on or off make sure its either off or set to whatever regional code your DVD player supports.

Another movie I didn't not get to see since it did not air in any theaters around my area so me and a friend rented it. The movie starts out really fast paced and hard to follow after the train robbery but about halfway through it gradually slows down and the story starts to get interesting. If your not into history type movies you may not like this since it felt more like a documentary then a movie. Every few mins a narrator would explain the current situation to try and make clear what was going on. It was all done really nicely and the action was not over the top like in all those old western movies. theres really not much else I can say about this movie. It was really done nicely. I give it a 7/10

Well I didn't get the chance to see this film in theaters so my friend rented it and a few other movies for us to watch tonight. I've heard so much about this film being a "master peace" or being really amazing that I had some high expectations before seeing it. Having Tommy Lee also gave me the impression that this was going to be an action packed gun movie like most of the movies/shows hes in. ...you can take everything you've heard from people, web sites, the TV and throw it out the window. This film is one of those either you like it or you don't and I was one of the people that didn't like it at all. The general story is still very unclear. Sure we understand the very basic story of the main character finding drug money and wants to keep it so he's forced to run away from this Beatles looking guy. The problem is loads of things are left unanswered. For example, who is the Beatles guy working for? The mexicans, the other guys, or himself? How does the main character know how to do all the things he does? He acts as if this type of stuff is a regular thing for him. The list goes on.... As the story slowly progresses and the action picks up you would at least expect the writers to explain some of this stuff, but no, in-staid they toss unrelated story's at us about Tommy Lee's Character or someone else that has really nothing to do with the current movie settings at all. Which brings me to another point. Where the hell was Tommy? The movie starts with him and ends with him but we never see him deal with any of the main characters at all throughout the most critical moments. He's a sheriff of Texas and the most we see him and his Dep do is drink coffee and read news paper about deaths. Then the inevitable ending, no one wins. The hero loses in a confusing and really un-eventful way, the Main bad guy loses by not gaining the thing he's wanted throughout the whole movie, the Mexicans are still around for some reason god only knows if they have the money now or not, and we have no clear idea where the money is. Nothing is clarified or brought to a closure and your left with questions and a dumb found look on your face (at least I was). This film was probably one of the few I have ever disliked in my life. Sure the guns and tools they each used to attack each other was really cool. But without a decent story or any clarification of whats going on I feel like I just got movie raped. Please excuse me wile I go curl up in a ball. I give this movie an 4/10

I guess you have a point. I found the beginning half (before thrones) a lot better then the current half (with thrones/and GN-X's), too. But the show is still leap years better then Wing and Seed and that's all that matters to me haha. At least they're going for something new as apposed to recreating the same earth vs space people story. And since the story is interesting and everyone is about equal in terms of power, it's been keeping my attention. However when the Trans-Am was introduced I was thinking the same thing as you. If they didn't add a downside to it, I probably would have had major negative opinions about the series like I did about the thrones being introduced.

*Prison shanks Eppy* lol j/k

You honestly don't like the show? I find it to be really interesting. It's probably going to be somewhere in my top 10 for fav Gundam series. @Godgrave, it is consistent. After you watch the end you will understand why theres a downside to Trans-AM. Its not randomly done, it makes sense since the Gundams have to "recharge" anyway. Also think of it this way, would you want all the Gundams overpowering everyone with Trans-AM lol. That would kill the show.

dynDNS finally unblocked my account! My sig images should be loading now. Apparently my account was blocked because of "copyright infringement". Lets Backup a year. Last year a friend of mine created a popular job site which I wont name. It ended up being so popular thanks to digg that a company bought it from him. Since my friend allowed me to use his code for another job site for a small community I was forced to sign a license agreement with this company if I wanted to keep using the code. The license basically stated that I could continue to use and modify the code as long as I did not redistribute it or run a site that would compete with theirs. I was also forced to keep their google ads on the site so they could gain 50% of my ad revenue. Which I didn't really care much about since the site doesn't generate much money anyway. So anyway, apparently this company reported me to dynDNS's abuse center saying that I am illegally using their code and that my account should be banned. The company did not even contact me and ask me to stop...they know who I am after all. So dynDNS complied and put a red mark on my account (which stays there for life and puts me on a watch list for bad activity). Now, I'm pretty frustrated. Not because I can't use the code anymore but because they broke their license agreement and they didn't even contact me and request I stop using it. I would have gladly stopped if they asked nicely in an e-mail or over the phone. So I contacted the friend that sold them the code and he's contacting the company to try and get answers since I don't have their e-mail and id really like to know why they broke their deal with me. Either way I don't plan to use the code again since I've started coding my own job site and I wont take any legal actions since it's not really that big of a deal, its their code after all anyway. But I'm still angry that they would do something like that. Is it that hard to e-mail someone and say "Hey, I know we signed an agreement about letting you use our code but where gonna have to ask you to stop using it." O well, lesson learned, never trust company's that buy popular sites.
-
its good that Trans-AM has a downside to it. I'm happy the writers are trying to keep everything realistic as apposed to past series like Wing and Seed where the Gundams have no flaws and the pilots are almost robotic. If you watched the latest ep, Trans-AM uses the particles completely causing the suit to get a temporary boost. Once the particles run out the suit goes below average in speed and power.

also did you remember to un-check the regional code that most burners have on by default? Most of the time when you burn it will use the EU regional code. If it does, the dvd wont work on any player thats USA regional specific. So its better to just turn that feature off.

happy b-day noob sauce. Install Alliance! lol

Honestly I hope not, as much as I hate the way the story's been going I still want to learn more about SS, the realm above it (ie. the king place), Ichigo's dad, and the rest of the characters that we know next to nothing about, Ichigo's mask and dark side, the vizards, romance. There's so much that hasn't even been touched on that it would be crazy to end it now. At least thats my opinion. Personally if he did end it, I think it would be a sucky way to end such a long and somewhat interesting story. Aizen and his crew die. OMG Ichigo saved us yet again! *Everyone has a party* *end of manga* thats not how I would want the manga to end.
