Looks like Call of Duty is mimicking Battlefield 1 now. Just like Advanced Warfare was inspired by Destiny.

The campaign could be good, but is it $60 good? I don't know, but I do know I wont be buying this game for the multiplayer. We have another COD: Advanced Warefare topic, but it turned into a BF4 discussion. Click here to view the article

Here is the trailer for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. This will be the first COD game on the new 3 year developmental cycle. It will be the first entry done solely by the studio Sledgehammer who enters the fray along side Infinity Ward and Treyarch. While COD: Ghosts sold relatively well, it saw a 30% drop from Black Ops 2. Black Ops 2 came after what could be considered the worst game in the series (MW3) in which both IW and Sledgehammer had a part in. While Ghosts goes on a DLC gimmick frenzy containing Michael Myers and Predator in hopes of bolstering interest, time will tell what is causing the declining interest in Call of Duty. Between the fanbase there are some who are loyal to certain studios that produce the game. Ghosts lack of sales could have been due to a disdain of MW3 as Black Ops 2 still broke previous sales records. It could be another two years before we find out if the series as a whole is getting stale among hardcore player. Even if Advance Warfare fails to beat the previous year, it could be possible most are waiting on Black Ops 3. This new entry is beyond what any COD has done by the looks of it. One can only see the subtle similarities to Titanfall. There may not be mechs and parkour, but super jumps, and climbing buildings without the need of ladders is certainly eyebrow raising. Then again the trailer is only for the solo campaign, and judgement should be reserved for the multiplayer reveal.

People have speculated what the new Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will be like and if developer Sledgehammer will make use of a new game engine. Today they revealed something completely unexpected. The campaign will be released as DLC and not come standard. So they're going to charge $59.99 for a multiplayer only game in 2014 and then release the actual game for more money in 2015. This DLC bullshit is really getting out of hand now. Source: http://www.callofduty.com/ (EDIT) April Fools!

In an interview with OPM (Original Playstation Magazine), Infinity Ward’s animation lead Zach Volker went into some details about the new game engine that will be powering the upcoming game "Call of Duty Ghost". Here are a couple quotes from the interview to summarize: Infinity Ward has been significantly upgrading its existing game engine for the past 2 years. While it can be claimed that the end result is a new game engine, it is not a new engine built from the ground up. Which means that Ghost will be running an upgraded game engine that was most likely used in "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3" Source: Playstation Official Magazine - UK

I finally figured out my NAT issues. I'm posting this because so many games are affected by NAT / router issues. The main NAT problem I've been having is PSN's new party chat feature. Because the chat works by having individuals self host the VOIP on their own systems, many people will experience NAT errors because of their routers. This is not a step by step guide, but instead its a list for future reference for anyone that is having NAT issues and the steps I performed to fix them on my network. Search on google how to do these specific steps for your game systems and / or routers / modems. 1) I manually set my PS4 to have a static IP by manually entering the IP# I wanted it to have. The IP# is the same as all the other devices on my network except for the last set of numbers. This I set to 80 to make sure that nothing else on my network would ever try to get that number assigned to it. I also had to set the numbers for my default gateway, DNS, etc. 2) I opened my router settings, I then changed the range of DHCP IP#s to 2-79 to make sure my PS4 IP# would be outside of the DHCP range. Because it is now a static IP#, it's number cannot be in the DHCP range. 3) I then set that specific IP# for the PS4 to be in a DMZ (demilitarized zone). After resetting everything, I realized the problem was not resolved. 4) I set a variety of port forwards / triggers for the IP# of the PS4 that are specific to PSN. This did not resolve the issue either.. I found some more ports for PS3/PS4 and added those as well. Still didn't work. 5) This is the solution.. I realized that I had to login to my modem which had a different IP# from my router. Once I was in the modem admin, I set my router's IP# to be in the modem's DMZ. I then also set the modem to run in "Bridged mode". Once that last part was done, I reset everything. The end result is that on my router admin screen, the WAN number changed from a 192.168.0.2 number to the actual IP# of my internet. The problem was that my system was being double NATed. All the settings I made to the router were all nulled and pointless because the modem itself was blocking all those settings with it's own NAT. Because the modem was now bridged, it basically skips all its NAT and firewall options and now acts as a bridge from my router to the actual internet as opposed to being a wall that granted restricted access. Now when I run the Internet test on my PS4, it still shows up as NAT Type 2, but I no longer get the warning text at the bottom about fragmented packets possibly causing errors. Also, when I make a party chat, I no longer receive a NAT error message. My NAT issues seem to be resolved. I tested it tonight with my brother. We got into a party chat just fine and played some BF4. And then after a while we realized that everyone on our squad could hear us the entire time because we had VOIP turned on in the BF4 settings. We thought party chat would override that but it does not. We had squad mates talking in our ear in the last round. After turning VOIP off in the BF4 settings, it disabled all voice chatting for the game, but PSN's party chat continued to work fine in the game. I'm very glad PSN has a party chat option now. Its much easier to keep talking rather than losing a conversation because of a lost connection to an EA server.

Call of Duty: Ghosts Xbox 360 & PS3 versions hacked before launch
Sledgstone posted a article in Games
Call of Duty: Ghosts current-gen versions hacked before launch This is why a host based system is pointless, its too easy for a host system to get an advantage. I wouldn't play this on PS3 or Xbox 360 now. Also, this video emphasizes that Ghosts is not powered by a new game engine. If the hack was based off a Modern Warfare 2 hack, then parts of the game code is the same as a game from 2009. Everyone is basically buying the exact same game every year with new maps. Making your own custom bots that people can battle against while you are offline seems interesting but unless it allows custom map rotations, why would anyone want to play squad battles when they could just play multiplayer instead? Also, squad vs. squad sounds like it would be a regular multiplayer match considering no AI would be involved in that.

. I wish they would have stayed with Treyarch's score streaks, I'm glad deathstreaks are gone though, I am also glad that UAV's are ground based. I hate UAV whores and its the main reason I've always used the stealth package of perks. It seems they borrowed a crap ton from Battlefield and Treyarch. The guns always look like they kill like they did in MW2, but I'm not falling for that anymore. I don't see anything that resembles stopping power on the perk chart either.

It looks like Titanfall might end up being a timed exclusive for Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC as opposed to being an outright exclusive for Microsoft. The PS4 and PS3 might get this ground breaking FPS game in the near future. Of course this is all speculation based off a youtube video. If Titanfall does make it to the PS4, I'll definitely buy it. Go to 2:38, there is a censored out Playstation system with PS3 / PS4 controllers sitting near the monitors. Source: PSU.com

The original Infinity Ward studio that brought us COD4: Modern Warfare and MW2 has finally come out of hiding as Respawn Entertainment with a game that is highly futuristic, but is very CODish in appearance from the XP scoring and map. We can only wait for more lawsuit slinging between Activision and EA overthis.... anyways the game looks great. Sadly its an XBO exclusive. It looks like it will be a fun game, but the quality of the graphics and effects as shown in this campaign trailer are nothing compared to what Battlefield 4 is doing. This trailer looks like its running on an Xbox 360 and not an Xbox One or PS4. And did you see the dog vs. helicopter moment? lol.. I took a screenshot because it looked great.
